How are you, logistically, going to get the Club Championships “played off by early to mid December”? Are you happy to knock out club teams from championship to meet this “early to mid December schedule”? And therefore to leave many clubs idle between July and the following March?

Equally, the Club Championships running beyond Christmas affects 1% of club players (probably fewer, in fact). How do you make out that an initiative not affecting 99% of players is important? Reality: 99% of club players’ off season would be unaffected by this initiative.

In the Club Hurling Championship just gone, the Munster Final was played on 18 November 2018 and the Ulster Final was played on 11 November 2018. A three month wait then for the All Ireland semi final on 9 February 2019 and another five weeks for the final on 17 March 2019. It would hardly be that much of an organisational feat to have the Leinster Hurling Final played by 18 November or even 25 November. Semi finals on 2 December, final the week after or even two weeks later by 16 December.

You did not address the signal point: how do you avoiding knocking out club teams in June/July? Or do you feel this scenario, which would be a corollary of your schema, is fine?

County season March to July, club season August onwards. Not rocket science. All Ireland club hurling, 16 teams at most. Could be played off over 4 weekends. No provincals. Same with all Ireland club football. 32 teams , could be played off over 5 weekends. Seed clubs based on inter county league standings possibly. 8 seeds hurling, 16 football.

a nice upgrade from when wexford fans on here used 20 years as a barometer. When hurling modernised, when there was a backdoor it spelled the end of wexfords hopes forever unfortunately. Sad to see you dont consider underage, club, football or any other all irelands but very very understandable
