I wouldnât because thats exactly what they want you to do. Keep the rest down is all they give a fuck about
Yeah well that ainât totally untrue either
Itâs quite simple
All-Ireland finals attract the interest of the whole country and regularly draw over a million viewers regardless of which teams are involved
All-Ireland semi-finals usually draw upwards of 600-700k
How many people tune in for the club finals?
100k?
Even that?
These are the All-Ireland finals of the club championship, remember
Which does the general public and the average GAA person take more seriously?
A sizeable amount of those tickets end up back with people from the counties involved. Still thatâs less than a third of the overall crowd. The majority of county final crowds will be neutral
You canât compare individual club games with individual county games. A higher proportion of the people at club games will be neutrals than those at intercounty games
Few people give much of a shit outside of their own county, a minority of supporters at intercounty games are neutral
Sorry @Sidney. We may not see eye to eye on everything. But please put this to bed will you. Heâs after contradicting himself about 7 times here. Just finish it
Where did I contradict myself?
The average GAA person takes club GAA more seriously in my experience. More people I know go to see their club senior team play than their county senior team play, ergo they take it more seriously
But people clearly do give a shit outside of their own county in a way they donât outside of their own club, hence the ratings for inter-county games being massively higher
Youâre in la la land
With the possible exception of Cork, no one in any club game will bother their holes going to a county final (not to mind any other kind of game) that doesnât involve their own club. Otherwise you would get a minimum of 20k at every county final in the country. The club finals will draw an average of about 30k per year. Thatâs with a double header of both hurling and football. Your argument is completely invalid.
If people have no allegiances to a county/club they are obviously going to watch the higher quality product.
It doesnât mean its more important
Are you taking the piss? Have you ever been at a senior club game?
None of this makes any sense
Youâll have a bit of a neutral crowd at a county final as people might feel itâs the âcountyâ final and might go out of a feeling of duty
The Dublin final will attract a reasonably decent neutral crowd if itâs an attractive pairing like Vincentâs v Ballymun or something, last yearâs final crowd for Kilmacud v Judeâs was poor as it wasnât seen as an attractive pairing and also was all-Southside
Outside of finals, youâre often talking about two men and a dog at these matches
Thanks for your input. I can only imagine you have never been at a senior club game if you think neutrals donât go to see them
Iâve been at a good few Kilkenny club championship games in recent years and neutrals outnumber fans of either side in the majority of them Iâve seen
Of course it means itâs more important
Higher level matches are more important by definition
Which is more important, Rovers v Bohs or a Champions League last 16 match
Which is more important, a World Cup Final or a Champions League Final?
As I advised earlier it would be better for you to call it a night
Answer the question mate
Are you now comparing a Tipperary county final to a Champions League final or a World Cup final?
Where did I say neutrals donât go to see them. Point out the post. Jesus Christ, Im the definition of neoutral when it comes to going to club games.
