Kilkenny were very close to beating limerick last year. If they can find a few along the way and the new system means they can and get a few back from injuries theyâll have a huge say.
Canât agree that was 10 months ago Limerick had to get over a huge psychological hurdle that day. Both teams have gone in different directions since then.

Thereâs very little between 6 or 7 teams. Injuries and momentum will have a huge effect on teams. They also have Cody on their side too which is massive. Whoever beats them will earn it.
Why is Cody so massive? He was certainly the man to keep some of the best players of all time motivated, year in year out and on the treadmill of success. With a largely moderate group of players last three seasons, Kilkenny have had some very bad beatings and Cody has looked tactically bereft a lot of the time.

Hes the greatest manager in hurling history. Take Cody away from that team and theyâll fall apart. His influence on refs is amazing even in this day and age. I couldnât see limerick losing to kk last year and felt weâd hammer them. Coming away from game the respect I had for them was unreal. Their never say die attitude stems from him. I feel they could have a much stronger 15 than last year if injuries clear up. They drew with Galway and lost by a point to limerick so imo theyâll be right there.

Micko Dwyer stayed on too long with Kerry also and they still fell apart after he left having a great manager without the raw materials is not going to compensate

They took Waterford to extra-time in 2017 and Limerick needed two very late points to beat them in 2018
He won a league title last year and drew with Galway in the Leinster final
Heâs arguably doing an even better job now than he did when Kilkenny were at their peak in 2007-08 because the raw material is not nearly as good
The raw material he had in 2014-16 should not have won one All-Ireland never mind two and yet he came within an ace of another three in a row

Itâs very rare I agree with Sid but he gets every last ounce of his players. Something thats very rare. It doesnât matter about the ability of the players either. He can still relate to them and get them to give their best. The last two Irelandâs were an incredible managerial feet.
Cody has 14 all Irelands won as a player and a manager. Thatâs more than most counties have. A lot more
