They tried their level best to adress it. Players not really there by looks of it.
Very dissapointed with Waterford today bar the last 5 mins. I expected home advantage to really drive them on but in reality it just didnt happen. Can argue theyâre lackin ball winners in the full forward line without Maurice, but the ball in by and large was very poor and to Clareâs advantage. Clare were v dangerous in the first half but seemed to take the foot off pedal in the 2nd half. Strange game overall, but obviously pleasing from a Clare perspective not playing great but winning away.
Clare were way more streetwise than Waterford today.
Waterford let Tony Kelly do what he wanted.
Kevin Moran will be sick after gifting Tony Kelly that point in the 2nd half. Very unlike him.
Tipp scored some outstanding scores today, but Cork made them look a lot better than they were ⌠Their bench doesnt look all that great either⌠But that was a statement from Sheedy all the same
Itâs quite possible we are all underestimating Clare again already. Away win in Waterford, bait limerick last year, drew with Galway and bait tipp away.
The issue with Tipp will be maintaining that hunger. They have shown in the past few years that they can hit savage purple patches and leave teams for dead but that they can also drop off.
They should beat Waterford next week too though, and have one leg in the last 6
Welcome back mate, just in time for the bandwagon to Japan
Clare were very good today. I was amazed we ended up so close to them.
To be honest I think Kevin Moran is finished and I could see it in him last year, the problem is is that nobody seems to be pushing him out of the team
Very naive from Waterford, the dogs in the street knew the game he was going to play today
There was a couple of times near the end he was running for the ball and it was like he was in quicksand
Very dissapointed with Waterford today bar the last 5 mins. I expected home advantage to really drive them on but in reality it just didnt happen. Can argue theyâre lackin ball winners in the full forward line
Too many lightweights and passengers in that forward line, Iâd get rid of Hogan, Mahony and Kearney for a start. Give Maurice, Curran and Ryan a start v Tipp. Iâd get rid of McNulty out of the backs - I donât know what the status of Dara Fives latest injury is or what happened Connors today
His legs are gone and his striking is slow and inaccurate. Maybe a ball winner the edge of the square?!
A lot of muttering about how Kearney got 70 mins today and his brother a selector. Hogan wouldnât have looked out of place in the minor game. And Pauric Mahony was marked absent
Outstanding.
Exactly, Kearney was thrown around like a rag doll out there and his brother must be having some influence in him starting. Mahony has been a passenger/free taker since his leg break and Hogan is too light and striking isnât where it needs to be for intercounty. I like the look of Jack Prendergas, he has a bit about him
What pressure would that be?
The pressure of being favorites and win back to back all Irelandâs
After 10 seconds Richie Murray got stuck into Brian McEvoy. Set the tone for what was to follow
Murray was asked why he started the row. He said Kennedy had him plagued all week to start the row before the throw in as he wouldnât get booked. Murray looked down the pitch as things were calming and Kennedy was giving Shefllin a few digs while everyone was distracted with the ruck in the middle of the pitch.
