I’ve played at high enough a level that you know that whatever runs take place before the ball is pucked out you need to be attacking the ball face on on to snatch it in the paw. Otherwise you’d want to be Stephen hendry figuring out the angles, velocity and pace and so on. You suggested a lad stand with his back to the crowd and use his hurl as a shield and just saunter on to the field to catch a ball. Come on now. Are you serious. You do realise the fundamentals of the game don’t you!

Ah Drom/Broadford is a Hurling Club with a Football problem!

Who have you in the 11 Hurling clubs? Starting furthest West off top of my head and forgive my geography now

Drom/Broadford won the County Junior Hurling Championship in 2015 I think? County Semi Finalists again in 2020.

That’s 13 clubs who take their Hurling seriously is the way I’d put it. Traditionally (since the late 90s anyway) Football would have been given more importance and resources in both NCW and Drom but I think that’s changing in NCW at least.

Then you have Rathkeale who were recently Senior Football but contested Co Junior Hurling Final in recent years

St. Kierans are certainly primarily a Football club but were last year’s beaten Junior finalists too

Cody has Kilkenny flying, the last training session was better than the Munster final, they played 4, 8 minutes matches of backs against forwards and the likes of it wasn’t seen in a long time, savage intensity and stickwork, TJ Reid is seriously focussed

That’s silly talk. It’s a semi final, it’s Croke park… It’s another two weeks Henry has with them. They haven’t been great their last couple of games but every day is completely different at this stage. They have some top players who will relish it… Every single team Limerick played this year, except Cork, brought a savage fight and Galway won’t be any different. They obviously need to tighten up on puckouts and use of ball into forwards but 9/10 of them are AI winners and will be respected as such.
