All Ireland Hurling Final 2014- Kilkenny vTipperary

Kilkenny will be announcing their team tonight.

A nation holds it’s fucking breath.

Gonna say
King in for DHW
P Walsh in for Holden

All true, against that, will tipp miss as many goal chances again? Lars in particular was very unlucky. All to play for.

Padraig Walsh, Kieran Joyce, John power in for Holden, B hogan and dhw. Tipp unchanged

imagine reconstructing your HB line and expecting to win an AI

Depends on how you looks at it. Imagine conceding 1-28 and not re-evaluating things.
Brian Hogan has been dealing with an injury for a while so his exclusion doesn’t surprise me.

ballsy selection. Joyce centre back now the key for Kk. Could all go very right or wrong

If it goes right you have found your 6 for the future. Joyce at 27 could stake his claim there for a few years.
Win or lose there is massive clear-out on the way.

Yep, I thought he should have been given a run there during the league.
P Walsh coming in isn’t a big surprise to be honest but Power in at corner is some curveball. Every ball into that corner in the first game was over Wally’s head, which gave him no chance as changing direction isn’t his strong point. Barrett had a field day as a result. Power’s speed poses a different question, who knows how it will go for him, I wouldn’t be massively confident though.

I forgot about this game until yesterday due to the bizarre 3-week gap to the replay. I might tune in depending how the Saturday afternoon foursomes are going in Gleneagles.

Tipp - No changes, nice and settled.

Kilkenny - 3 changes, all over the shop.

Tipp by 10 :pint::pint:

I’d imagine Brian Cody could field the minor team and still expect to win the AI. Did you seriously think after shipping 28 points in the drawn game he’d leave everything as is?

I pointed out before the first game that the HB line were the worst Kk ever fielded in an AI final. They had to make changes alright, but unless they score another 3-4 goals Tipp will waste them . He needs to swallow his pride , man for man Kk are no longer good enough at the back. I don’t expect to see Fogarty or M Fennelly venture inside the Tipp 45. Theyll park the bus, Even still they won’t be good enough. Serious opportunity for Tipp

Tipperary will walk this.

But limerick never feared tipp.

But hasn’t he just swallowed his pride by making those changes?

LOL at Michael Duignan saying Cody should start Shefflin. I like Duignan but he’s off his rocker saying shit like that.

I think people are quick to write off KK, yet of the team teams, they are the ones who have the most improving to do. They’ll have learnt a lot from 3 weeks ago. Tipp hit 29 scores, were probably the better team, yet still couldn’t win. Tipp have hit the ceiling yet KK have another gear in them I reckon.

KK by 3.

Tipp have struggled to close out games from winning positions under O’Shea, they bottled it more than KK coming back although what they did was the mark of a resilient and for want of a better description, winning team.
One thing I know about that Tipp team is that a significant portion of the players think they are Gods gift (I don’t have a problem with that mindset in an athlete), they will feed off the confidence of simply not losing to Kilkenny again and the thoughts of another year of shenanigans.
Bubbles is the key, if he can get 4/5 long range scores over the course of the game Cody won’t be able to crowd the his half backline and the space will be there for Maher to run into, for the two enigmas to pick off scores and Lar to create a goal or two.
