Speedsters seem to give Limerick more trouble than heftier teams.
I think the scenario going into this is similar enough to the 2015 final with Limerick as Galway and Galway as Kilkenny.
To me Limerick look primed to perform against a more experienced team which looks vulnerable, but I worry it might end up being a year too soon for them and Galway’s experience and know how will wear them down.
I fancy that for a change, Galway might be slow out of the blocks for this and Limerick could build up a lead, but if it’s not a significant one, Galway may get the upper hand and grind out the win.
I was at the league match where Galway lost a ten point half time lead to go on to lose the match. Gillane was playing left corner forward in the second half and won a world of ball off his marker. I can’t remember if it was Tuohy or Hansbury marking him in that half but Gilane’s biggest mistake was not taking on his man, he could have done awful damage. He’s taking on his man these days and if he learns to hold on to his hurl he’ll cause serious problems on Sunday.
I tend to agree that it is a year too early for Limerick. I think Joe Canning is going to have an unbelievable game, I think he’s primed to have a “ Joe Show “ day.
I fancy he will need to. Canning is carrying other Galway forwards in a way he wasn’t last year.
The “year too soon” stuff (I must add this to the cliches list) could easily go out the window were Limerick to get a couple of goals in the first half. Then again Waterford did that too last year and couldn’t capitalise. But I think there’s much more genuine firepower in this Limerick team than Waterford had and I can see them keeping pace in terms of getting points, which Waterford didn’t.
Huh? Kyle Hayes plays centre forward for limerick. He’ll drop deep behind his midfield and pick up canning who’ll drop off hannon regularly into the midfield third. You’ve a very poor understanding of the game. Hayes is extremely underrated And will thrive in this duel.
Galway are hoping conor cooney finds form out of the blue, whelo continues carrying a massive load (hes almost under rated) and mannion and canning turn up big time. Jonny glynn will perform. Not sure niall burke will but his contribution is just extra anyway. Will need 70 from the Midfielders but more than any of that just need to use the ball heads up like they did the first 20 the last day. Old habits die hard.
I know where he plays for his club and where he plays for his county, and he’s a master of neither position. You’re deluded if you think he’ll keep Joe Canning quiet.
Joe tends to bottle it in big games when he’s faced with adversity. Kyle on the other hand thrives in the face of adversity. He’ll show up when he’s needed.
Cooney had a good Leinster final last year but was hit and miss otherwise. He’s done fuck all this year so far. Mannion is playing so deep he’s not been a scoring threat for the last two games.
Galway are clear favourites for this. They have been here plenty of times before. They are well seasoned compared to a Limerick side who have a handful of lads over 23. Even the bigger chaps that Galway are naturally sweating over, like Hegarty, have a lot of filling out to do. So long as Galway can hurl for 70 minutes and sort out all the injuries they should win handy
Off the phone with the limerick management, they have lost it at @anon61956325 ‘s inability to keep manners on his men here. The direct quote was, the useless fucker had one job but we should have known given how he’s never had a job in his life before.
@anon61956325 has done his county a great service. A classic diversionary tactic, he has Galway lads led up the garden path.
He’ll be remembered fondly and eulogised on Sunday, his sacrifice won’t be in vain.
Sean South would be turning in his grave at the behaviour of the Limerick posters the last few weeks. If they win on Sunday will they reappear?
@Rocko would be well within his rights to ban the whole lot of em. His posting stats are gone through the floor ergo the value of TFK on the open market is fucked
Im in Croatia. I booked (and paid for) the family holiday last October completely oblivious to the change of dates for the hurling season. Tbh, I prefer the semis anyway.
