JBM gave an interview ahead of this game and expressed the exact opposite attitude. Ye’ve improved out of all proportion over JBM’s tenure. Cork have been overrated but one poor performance does not mean he should walk away.

That particular JBM stat went out the window two years ago when Tipperary beat Cork in Cork. Tipperary have won 5 of the last 6 championship meetings over Cork, the only blip the shock 2010 defeat in Cork (after which things ultimately didn’t work out too badly for Tipperary). Cork have had serious hang ups about Tipperary in recent years and this is a group of Tipperary players who across the grades have spent their hurling lives beating Cork.
