All Ireland Hurling Semi Final Cork v Tipp

Clare should know. They took awful beatings in the early 90’s and a few years ago only to turn it around into AI’s

Of course they know, sure don’t they know everything there is to know about hurling since 1995

You’re getting a little ahead of yourself there.

Big game before you play Clare in any u21 AI final, in fact, from what I’ve seen/heard re July challenges I don’t think you’ll get that opportunity. I’d bet it will be a Clare v Galway u21 final. But if you did, it would indeed be a great achievement
Still loads of generalizations.
Bonnar will destroy Ellis. Kelly was to as well, as was DOG. None of it happened.

Corks bigger issue is sharpeness. Stay in the game for 20-25 and they’ll win pulling up.
 castigates a poster for generalizing, then finishes with a generalization.
So you have no real reasons just the hope that form goes out the window and several Tipp players have their best games in 3 years an an ever improving Cork team collapse.
Cool. Talk to ya Sunday (Monday for me)
Tipp have won their last 3 games, what form are you talking about.

Against reasonable opposition.

I thought he had been finally exposed a few weeks ago but a quick hiatus and he is back better than ever.
It’s not like it is particularly smart, just the same shit over and over.

Like Waterford and Clare?

He’s a scream god bless him, a big roaring fucking eejit of a screaming dream.

Or the All Ireland champions and the Munster champions (who beat Tipp).

He’s the gift that keeps giving. I cant wait for him to finally regale us with stories of these mythical Meath minor and U21 matches he watched, with whats their names lads who played really well, yknow, yer man.

Waterford should have beaten Cork 1st day out, yet Kev wants to dismiss Tipperary’s form due to a loss against Limerick in a game that could have gone either way in their first outing of the championship.
It’s worth noting that Kilkenny are the only team to knock Tipperary out of the Championship since the 08 semi-final.

For sake of a competitive final I really want Cark to win on Sunday. I fear this Tipp team have their number though. Fair weather hurlers like McGrath and Callinan will love playing against this Cork team but will empty the togs as usual when it gets tough in the final.
Cork have the tools to beat Kilkenny and won’t be phased mentally, tipp will be beaten before a ball is thrown in despite having better hurlers.

Callanan generally plays well enough against Kilkenny

He missed a free from middle off goals on 45 to bring a league final to extra time and a gilt edged goal chance in an all Ireland final too.

I think Cork will win because

1 - larger range of scoring forwards - Horgan, Harnedy, Lehane, Cadogan with O’Sullivan, Moylan on the bench - they are capable of putting up 30 points totals
2 - Kearney and Walsh at midfield have been dominant this year
3- pace, movement and fitness suited to Croke Park pitch
4 - Any fouls from half way in will be punished by Horgan

All assumes that they show up with the required work rate and attitude. They are a much improved team from last year because have added size/ball winners through the spine of the team and Kingston seems much more tactically astute than Cunningham was last year so they are not just going out on basis that simply better hurling will win a match.

Up Cork.

My memory wouldn’t be the best. Was that the 09 league final? He did miss that chance in the all Ireland of 09 but it wasn’t an awful shot or anything although it was at a good height. The one where Kelly slipped was an even better chance. In 2010 he came in when Kilkenny were coming back and got two vital points. Callanan is definitely in a different mindset this year though. You might not see it on the telly but he is working very hard and becoming a leader

I have to agree with you on that in fairness, he definitely has improved this year and taken on responsibility.

I think Tipperary have backs capable of handling the Cork forwards. Cahill/Stapleton and Barrett are well capable of holding Cadogan and Horgan.
Tipperary forwards are potentially a more potent force than Corks having racked up 3-25, 5-25 and 2-23 in the last 3 matches.
If it turns into a shoot out, I wouldn’t be unduly worried.
I would be concerned about the Cork centre-field pairing which is the one area I believe Cork have an advantage, that said, I would hope that Tipp would come up with a plan to negate the influence of Walsh and Kearney.
Callanan and Bubbles are equally as capable of punishing Cork fouls.
Tipp for me.
