All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2016 You Are What You Eat

I was reared not to swear kid :grinning:

Lookit…Would you ever fuck up spouting scutter to prove your intellectual ability to quote statistics.

For me, celebrating 60 years attendance in Croke Park, it has been a tumultuous day. A crowd of fuckers from my own club clearly got into the whole “spoofology” of the thing and I was treated Royally by a fellow countyman upon arrival.

VIP upgrade, Food and Beverages till you bust, a great game, a few cursory celeb spots and a pair of Hogan Stand tickets for the final - complimentery - to round off the day…

Kerry hadn’t the legs for it is my summation.

And there’s the reason, yet again, the genuine fan is fucked come the final.

I can nearly hear it…

“Ah yeah I haven’t missed an All Ireland final since nineteen and seventy three…”…

Haven’t gone to another game either!

Fuck off. Go to your Leitrim games. You ruin the GAA

Maybe they could stick him on Mccarron next time they play Tyrone.

Great win for Dublin yesterday. Showed great composure and never panicked. The scoreline really flattered Kerry. The booing of Donaghy and Gooch was unnecessary and more akin to the soccer crowd.

As much as it pains me to say it, I’ve tipped Mayo for Sam all year but after yesterday, I don’t see them beating Dublin. They will need at least 3 goals to win.

You’d easily know the editor of the Examiner is a Kerryman. The beating of the ref drum is hilarious and embarrassing. And even a slight underplaying of shit been thrown at the ref by the animals.

He definite missed a couple of things but he did both ways. Aidan O 'Mahoneys shoulder down the middle far more obvious and deliberate than McManimans. He saw AOM and not the other one ir seems so if anything that would indicate bias favouring Kerry (which i don’t believe).

Kerry made a great game of it due to 2 pieces of great opportunism. Other than that Dublin were full value.

Comsidering Marty Duffy helped alot of these lads pick up a medal in 2009 i think they should see the bigger picture.

Gough never had reffed a game of that pace and physicality before. I am not sure we have seen many if any. He stayed away from black cards which may well be the directive unless blantant pull downs. I think he generally enhanced the game. The timing of the crowley hit was what magnified it.

Pleasure to be there yesterday, an absolutely astonishing game. Sadly these are too few and far between. I’ve had an inkling for Mayo since the Fermanagh game, but think they’ll need to bring weapons onto the field to even come close to breaking even. Kerry brought everything, and a weakened Dublin side, and at the end, the Champions were still standing. Sure Kerry made mistakes, sure there was poor refereeing decisions against the losers, but you’ll get that in any sporting contest.

That was a pleasure to witness. There’s a bit of life in football still. Too little and too far apart, but there’s some there.

From a muldoon perspective the most frustrating thing about the Crowley hit was the fact that you could see it coming for about 10 seconds before it happened. I couldn’t actually believe he ran straight down that channel.

Similarly (actually not similarly) was the time Gooch had his snap shot off his right when there were two Kerrymen to his left in 1/4 of space (literally). Gooch hadn’t the energy to see them. I know he may not have heard them but if he was fit he’d have spotted them and they’d have been an extra point up.

O’Donoghue must not have been fit. His work rate when introduced was very poor.

Not too many hurling games have ever matched that.
Tipp-KK in 09/10 maybe
Cork-Tipp in '91

There are no less good games now than ever before. Football is way way better.

However if they want regular titanic struggles they need more games. In the AFL and its semi-pro/pro sub leagues like WAFL & VFL, a more physically absorbing sport, they get absolute belters every week. Some 2 teams will go toe to toe.

The only viable model going forward involves a league system and proper division of club and county championship seasons

Was a great game alright. I wouldn’t be as downbeat about Mayos chances. Flynn, Brogan nowhere near form of previous seasons, McCaffrey and O Carroll major losses at back. KY were able to hang in there despite being far less athletic and physical than Mayo. KY gave them template yesterday maybe. Stop giving the Dubs free reign with short kick out for starters.

Still wouldn’t back Mayo mind you but think they have a decent chance. They also have a decent record against the Dubs. Every little counts when you have their history!!!

Shhhh. Dublin are unbeatable.

Sorry. Forgot about the juggernaut

Ah Kev, seriously.

Off the top of my head.

Wexford v Cork 2003 - drawn game
Clare v Cork 2013 - both games

I could add a shitload more if I had the time to spend on it.

Best football game I remember is probably Mayo v Dublin in 2006.

McDonald’s point at the end was unreal
