I think Canavan was an extraordinary footballer mind you, one of the best I’ve seen, COC wouldn’t lace his boots but he’s still a fine player in my opinion.

Peter Canavan scored one point from play in the 1995 All Ireland Final. He was Tyrone’s joint top scorer from play that day with midfielder Jody Gormley.
Canavan failed to score from play in the 2003 All Ireland Final and scored 1-1 from play in the 2005 final. In total, he scored 1-2 from play in three All Ireland finals - that’s an average of 1.67.
