Junior A in Clare is made up of second or third string of senior club sides for the most part. Of the 16 teams in it only Bodyke, Ennistymon and Meelick would be first teams.
if you have more than one free-taker then you don’t have a free-taker
Presume Gleeson will go to centre-forward
I heard that Clare hurlers as part of a training exercise were actually hiding in long grass last weekend and three of the squad are now being treated for Lyme Disease.
Shanahan. Not as accurate.

I wouldn’t presume that about Gleeson at all.
Agreed. Much better off to be left at wingback for the year. Would Martin O’Neill be too light for 11? Similar style hurler to Mahoney?
With Fives to come back in at wing back it might suit to move Gleeson forward given the resources available?
Clare were much bigger. Much much bigger in fact. The hurling, the bits I saw, was old school. Enjoyable in a way, both teams seemed to have a target man with one snippy corner forward hanging around. Slower game though. I suppose a lot of Junior sides in Cork it’s their first team, so that makes a difference.
Its a mix in Galway. We played a team last Saturday and their average age was shoving 40 I’d say. Really enjoyable game.
We played another team last the week before and they had a scatter of minors in the team. Can make for some anxious moments.

Amen to that.
Don’t think Martin is on the pecking order for the forwards any more. Played in the backs in the Fitzgibbon, played in the backs for the club yesterday and came on as a sub Inthe backs in the league final. Didn’t take the frees yesterday for MS but is the best free taker in the county.
Who hurled well for Sion Fagan? Did that boy from Carrick hurl, Bill Walsh?
Cappoquin were so poor it was hard to get a good read on Mount Sion. Bill Walsh played and got a goal and got on a lot of ball but didn’t use all of it very well.
Clare have shit backs
And they have some talented players to fill in but midfield looks lightweight without Galvin.
It has only taken the hurling thread a week to do what the football thread has done since Novemeber
The life blood of the internet.

Because the lads all think this year is their year. In football only Dublin and Kerry and in the mind of one poster every country in Ulster have a chance. An AI thread featuring results from one sided club games in Waterford points to the democratisation of hurling.

AND WE ARE ONLY WARMING UP YET
Why would you take the best centre back in the country out of centre back?
Warming up for what?
Ye’ll win nothing.
In fairness you would have to put Donegal in the mix.
