Fotf Shane Lowry tweeted that it was the darkest day in the history of Offaly hurling. Apparently Westmeath had never beaten them before.
In fairness it seemed like great gas 15 or 20 years ago when the Offaly lads would turn up for an All Ireland with their gear in a plastic shopping bag, smoking fags and having a few cans on the bus, but the total disregard and ridiculing of any kind of discipline and professionalism has left them marooned and years behind in the new world order of the GAA.
Hopefully Liam Sheedy got his monthly stipend for his work helping Offaly hurling. Money hard earned
