All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2016

Agreed. They need to stay going at this level and they are starting to wilt. Kilkenny can stay this pace all day and they’ll find another gear at some stage as well.

Is a 1-point lead enough?

You wouldn’t think so… Kilkenny always seem to step it up 2nd half, they really squeeze the life out of teams. Waterford have hurled really well but I think they needed a bit more of a lead at the break, maybe a goal.

Hogan went quiet for the last 10 minutes of the half, but he’s liable to spring to life again. A red card for KK could swing it, I think TJ was lucky enough that the ref didn’t see that dig. A good few players on yellows, Waterford seem to be antagonising them a bit aswell.

just like the leinster semi and final, people getting excited thinking kilkenny are in trouble, theyve soaked up the best waterford can throw at them and are poised for their usual barnstorming 15 after the break, waterford are already out on their feet, the physicality in munster is no comparison to leinster and that’ll count soon

Good game so far. Kilkenny will probably do what they normally do now and come out and score 1-7 or so to 2 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half and end the contest.

Holden is suspect under high ball, target him & also it means the backs can deliver ball longer as opposed to looking for a short ball out continuously.

Brilliant stuff from Waterford so far. Can they keep it up? I hope so but have my doubts

Put Gleeson in so, he is a genuine high threat. Or Moran, or Bennett. All better than Maurice.

Tend to agree. Goals needed now & i can’t see WD getting one the way they are currently set up.

TJ should be off.

They looked as likely as Kilkenny to get one in that half.

Did they show a replay yet?

First 10-12 is critical alright, but i would say Waterford are prepared for this. Its the best known thing about KK’s game management and fitness.

Especially this year in fact

People keep thinking this is kk of 06 to 09. It’s not. Waterford are bang there and unlike Galway in the Leinster final they haven’t emptied themselves at all. They’ve hurled smart and there’s more in the tank.

Do they have it in the tank though? Looked tired approaching half-time.

I tend to be of this mind as well however i missed first 20

Waterford might gas in the last 10 minutes but I’d be surprised if they collapse and let Kilkenny takeover straight after the break like they did v Dublin and Galway. Waterford have far more willing runners and support play and won’t just lump it to relieve pressure.

Kilkenny will need the likes of Fogarty and Walter Walsh to really step it up here. No doubt they can but if they dont then it will be hairy for them.

There is no ball going into either full forward line which is making it fairly boring

Probably needed it alright and youth does struggle with lasting highly ohysical games. That takes alot of years to develop above fitness. So te are right to consider it. I missed first 20 but felt that was simply the up and down normal flow. And 15 mins in the dressing room could be enough too.

Waterford won’t win this. Tipp might beat them in an AI final, assuming they don’t fuck up next week.

Nevermind.
