I got it when it started in 2009, then priced ā¬70-75. Last year was first year I didnāt renew as it jumped from ā¬85 to ā¬99. Got it again this year. Works out good value for money if going to league games etc. Also, you get a fiver off for games that are not provincial or all Ireland finals, and generally a good ticket. Iāve had some smashing lower Cusack seats for all Ireland semis and finals
The kilkenny waterford game was very similar to the Wexford kilkenny game. The marque names for Kilkenny didnt really fire either day with Hogan and TJ Reid bottled up for the most part penalties and frees notwithstanding. Both Waterford and Wexfordās long range point scoring was much better. Maybe borne out of necessity and practice due to systems deployed by both.
Wexford will need to bring something new to the table though. Maybe picking Dunbar/O Connor instead of Morris to give them a goal threat up front and a bit more pace. It would be harsh on Morris but its knockout now.
The free taking will be pivotal. Waterford conceded 1-11 from placed balls against Kilkenny and Reid missed one or 2 uncharacteristic ones. McDonald cannot afford another off day again. The physcology of a missed free permeates throughout a team. Wexford would still have lost to galway penalty miss aside but it would have been much closer but for it. It galvanised Galway and sank Wexford. If he can convert 80% I give Wexford a huge chance.
Weāve bought the seaon tickets since the inception of the scheme and luckily its coincided with our good run of form so we have gotten great use out of them. The tickets have been unfailingly good for all the matches with allocated seating. Normally the AI final and semi final tickets are in the Cusack stand right in the middle of the pitch.
The purchase price includes all the league games, the Walsh cup matches and the first round of the championship.
The club + package is brilliant for my Dad as he could probably find a club match to tip along to every second evening in summer
Its a great and easy Christmas present!
Morris has been very good this season aside from the second half against Galway and doesnāt deserve to be dropped. Heās an accurate point scorer from play and usually slots over 2 or 3 per game. I think Harry Kehoeās position in attack is more up for debate.
Iāve mentioned McDonaldās unreliable freetaking for ages now and I hope that the key misses the last day prompt a change in freetaker. I think Guineyās a better freetaker than McDonald but heās even prone to blazing the odd easy one wide. His technique seems more solid though and I think heāll get the nod. Chin has been pretty good on the very long range ones so Iād be happy with him retaining responsibility for those with Guiney hitting anything inside the 65.
Yeah as Croppy boy alluded to Harry Kehoe might be the one to make way if they do make a change. I think the inside line needs a bit more pace though. Maybe Morris could come out. Good suggestion re Guiney. It would free up McDonald to concentrate on his contributions from play.
Waterford will be dreaming of All Ireland glory and the hype machine will kick into over drive now. Wexford players and supporters got a reality check against Galway but it will be all systems go against Waterford. I think secretly Davy would have chosen Waterford over Tipp and heāll know the mindsets and have an insight into the waterford players.
Be great to have it in Corkā¦ you can visit your family on the Saturday evening, mateā¦ Meet @ChocolateMice for some pre-game bantz and enjoy the splendour of the GAAās newest stadium in the process.
Tomas Mulcahy was on Cork radio yesterday and said the Glen would be playing CIT in Pairc Ui Caoimh next weekend to facilitate the quater finals being on there the following week. Apparently the Cork Co Board have to have a trial run to satisfy the Fire Officer.
