Your hoping to get limerick you know
Yes as they’d give us a game. Clare would be like the Waterford whitewash from last year. Be rubbish prep for an All Ireland Semi
Ye will kill them
Don’t worry it will be clare
It won’t. It’s destined to be a Tipp V Limerick final on a hot summer’s day inside in the Gaelic Grounds. Limerick never feared Tipp either
You want another hany final
Don’t we all Joe
In fairness, I was at that game, and galway played just as well without them as they did with them. There was nothing in it, and it was a fantastic game, but I don’t think the injuries made any difference, which actually, was great to see. Galway were outstanding.
Why don’t they play a national Final in Croke Park? Even D4 football finals gets played in Croker and no one shows up for them.
2003 final
KK 5-14
Chipp 5-13
Something like 17,000 at one of the games of the decade. Would have filled Thurles or Nowlan Park.
Only time a hurling league final will get played in Croke Park again will be if Dublin are in it a la 2011
That was played on a Bank Holiday Monday (May?) .
Playing this game in Limerick makes sense,
40 minute drive for both sets of fans.
It was. Lunacy on the GGA’s part. Some game though.
I was at it . Lk footballers lost the then D2ish final the previous day to Westmeath .
There was about 5000 at the D4 final, what’s your point?
It’s a National Final. Even limerick posters have said the GG is run down.
Crowd was unwilling to go to Dublin for a league final. National final, fair enough, but bringing the D1 final to Croke Park is not the norm, and, as I said, Nowlan Park would have been filled, Thurles would have seen a crowd twice of what turned up on the day (I know I said filled, that was hyperbole).
Thurles I can just shout understand, but anywhere else is a mockery of the competition, and belies the notion of playing some national finals in Croker and not others.
Don’t get your knickers in a twist. It’s not an issue tha Laois will have to address in any code in the mid to long term
Niall Burke in for the injured Conor Cooney.
