Ah there were always 3 decent teams in 1B. 2017 for instance Wexford finished above Galway and Limerick. 2016 it was Clare, Limerick and Wexford etc.
Right now the hurling league is gone stale. When itâs a hurling only weekend there no real cut in 80% of the games if not all of them. The football league is of far more interest these days. Armagh v Galway for instance should be a cracker of a game at the weekend. The division 2 relegation battle will be box office too.
I feel like Limerick are playing Cork every second week. Invariably Cork win the league game and Limerick send them home with their tae in a mug come championship.
Wexford v Tipp, Wexford v Cork, Galway v Clare and Limerick v Kilkenny are probably the few pairings who we havenât grown weary of as of yet.
Thought it was decent at first looking at the crowd in the New Stand but then when they showed a replay of a point or whatever it looked like there was no one in the Old Stand. Did they even open it?
Just to compound the repetitive nature of the ties, they made the decision to fix the league groups for two years. So other than swapping Offaly for Westmeath, Limerick are playing the same teams as in last years league.
Theyâre doing great work down there, weâre more than happy to play our part in growing the game anywhere Gaels are putting in the effort.
Clare nearly slipped into oblivion there in the mid-2010âs but youâd guys like Kinnerk, James Moran more recently going in there and driving the whole thing on and theyâre competitive again with a great little side. So look, we donât mind helping out with the bigger picture in mind.
Hurling needs your Corks, your Clares your Tipperaries.
Go back to a six team league, and have promotion and relegation like it was. Have the top two play a final. Have a good gap between league and championship. The end
Iâve no idea how youâve gone there from my post. Scrap the league semi finals. Leaves a 3-4 week gap between end of league and start of championship. Easily done within the current calendar
