Allianz National Hurling League 2024

Look ref, Richie Reid was upside down when I got here, and as for his grandma, she shouldn’t have mouthed off like that

That’s my point. There is no such rule as barging.

It’s pretty harsh on hego for not knowing his own strength.

It is probably a bigger game for Tipp today than Clare. They have a lot of question marks around who will start and where come championship. A loss with a flat performance would leave them in a tricky place a few weeks before championship.

Clare have a more settled championship team and have a bit of potential depth emerging in Leen, Lohan, Galvin, Rynne and Smyth who have all flashed throughout the league and four of them get further opportunities to stake claims today. Lohan or Rynne probably replace Taylor in midfield, aside from Rory Hayes possibly being under pressure at the back and Aidan Mc coming back into the forwards it will be the same 15 that started v Kilkenny when we play Limerick in the first round barring set backs.

All five of those lads all have the athleticism and skill to play at this level and is a marked improvement from the likes of Jason McCarthy, Shane Golden, Aaron Fitz, Paudi Fitz, Domhnall McMahons, Cian Nolan and others who have all started championship matches or seen championship minutes over the last two years.

I think those lads all probably need another year before rightly pushing for starting spots, Rynne, Lohan and Leen are all a bit raw in relation to their tackling/aggression but are of a far higher ceiling than the lads they have pushed out of the 26 and we may well be able to use our bench down the stretch in matches to far better effect. I doubt Brian Lohan is overly pushed about the result, avoid injuries and hope those newer lads continue their upward curve and anything after that is a bonus - win it and I’d expect another experimental side again for the final.

I said as much 2 months ago when the all important TFK poll on it was out up.

Is the hard and certain evidence of the league that Kk are far far superior to Galway and Tipp? All Ireland Champions elect?
They tossed Limerick aside like a rag doll yesterday, now I know its a finished Limerick

Hego should have stayed with the football

He might go back now that the hurling legs are gone

Put Shane O Brien into half forward line. Need fresh legs

Hard to disagree with any of that. I will say one thing though. I think Limerick are in better shape than Kilkenny were in 2010. That being said, there’s a reason why it hasn’t been done before

Barging and Charging by Hego - red card.

The @limericks are getting fierce defensive here, tis only the league lads.

Limerick to win the AI pulling up again this year and probably against KK again

Not defensive at all. Just curious to see how the inevitable decline pans out this year.

Ah not at all, unending pride in this group of lads but father time marches on

The way they’re giving up on their team is the most disappointing

We’l stand by them forever, they’l rage against the dying of the light with all they have

Pull the other lads into line, it’s very unsettling

Either Byrne’s or WOD did worse in the first half and escaped unpunished, though it’s exactly what you’d want your centreback to do.
Kk are a truly admirable side. Whatever their limitations, they do not ever take a backwards step.

I disagree, Limerick will peak exactly when they want to, will win Munster and would have won the all Ireland except Galway will batter them.
