Quaid is irreplaceable

As did all the others

For the moment, it would seem so, yes.

PK is irreplaceable as well.

Lads: the game is broken.

@Malarkey i hope you agree.

How and why?

What we are now witnessing is not “hurling”.

As @Malarkey has said; the game would be better without a handpass/throw.

It’s better than hurling of old. The throwing is annoying, but it’s a feature of how the fitness and strength of the players has just crowded all the space. Ominous that was tbh Tipp played pretty well and got steamrollered in the 15 minutes I saw after the evening events. Limerick look further ahead than ever, which is a right shame because take them away and it would be an epic competition this past few years. It’s kind of amplified by them being able to lose at least two games and still win the AI comfortably, same as kk back in the day, but even more so. They only have to win two knockout games , the semi final and the final.
From what I saw, that scoreline greatly flattered tipp, who are a fine side, but were beaten comprehensively. They won’t score three goals again against Limerick albeit the two I saw were absolutely beautiful.
Trouble is, you know it’ll end eventually, possibly starting with PK getting bored, but I’d imagine that money will be found to pay him whatever it takes, so an end to it seems a distance away, and it takes from the excitement a lot.
I’m not a fan of this “best team ever, enjoy them whilst they’re there, you’ll miss them when they’re gone” shtick. I’ve missed the generational kk team like I’d miss having malaria. I’ll miss Limerick the same, and honestly, I’d not be overly discomfited were it Galway either (laugh).
Sport thrives on uncertainty and excitement, which is why the rubby was so enjoyable yesterday. Limerick have removed that as much as it’s possible to.
Lads saying “,it’s up to the others to catch up”, well you can’t. It’s not a matter of unlimited finance, generational talent, freakish physical size and generational coaching. It’s a matter of having all four, along with a single team to focus all of your resources and efforts on. It just won’t happen. I don’t like it.
I’d like it less if it was Cark mind.

Paul kinnerk could train winners at the Cheltenham festival. The man’s clearly soem sort genius guro type operator.

Always funny to think Davy fell out with him.

We’re lucky he did

It doesn’t get mentioned enough. Shows how pig headed Davy is.

Lynch back fit is a problem for everyone else. Most games where teams have come close to limerick he’s been injured.

Didn’t hurt that limerick had a ball of money to throw at him too

It’s NOT better of hurling of old.

He looks lighter and quicker. Could be his best year yet.

A wonderful hurler.

Thought the Tipp half forward line and midfield had little enough impact yesterday. O’Connor hurled well until he took the bang to the head but was marked absent after that.

Tipp worked hard but are just lacking real quality in that middle third. Kennedy will be a loss as he is a dependable hurler with the legs for the style of hurling Cahill wants to play.

It is hard to see how they could get the better of limerick in championship hurling barring a lot of breaks going their way in the day. A few limerick lads were quiet or off colour yesterday yet they stream rolled Tipp for long periods yesterday.

You can see how Playing Gaelic football and coming from a city steeped in rugby really shaped his coaching . Would limerick have many lads under 6 foot in their team ?

We’re still going to be dependent on Noel McGrath come championship, in his 16th season. I’m not sure what that says about us, to be honest.

I don’t know if Bowe at wing back really works at all. It’s not as bad as putting Dan McCormack there but the furthest back I’d have Bowe is midfield.

O’Connor is turning into a much better inter-county hurler than I expected. As you said, he completely went out of the game after the bang.

I hate to tell you this but this is not a fine Tipperary side.

Nobody in Tipp rates them.
