You have to embrace it. If you start making up your own phrases it passes the time - see what you can get away with.
If you use an unusual (but real) word in a sentence you will hear it back within two or three minutes. People are actually very easy to influence, have a limited vocabulary, are inarticulate so they latch on to nonsense words and unusual words when they hear them.

Who’s to say the others aren’t all going off pulling the piss out of the whole thing to their friends or on other Internet forums.
Not entertaining this notion and thinking you’re a step above the plebs isn’t showing a huge amount of self awareness in fairness.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. That people are double double bluffing.
Most people are buffoons. From what I read on here the average poster is not a buffoon and doesn’t get outraged if somebody calls them a name as they are self aware enough to know it is a post on an internet forum and not somebody in their kitchen in their underwear waving a knife in their face.

It is far too commonplace to be one big joke that everybody and nobody is in on. Most people are very self important and take themselves very seriously. Any challenge to that self image is taken personally. Next time somebody uses a nonsense phrase stop them and say “sorry that makes no sense” - see if he laughs and says “gotcha”.
