Annual Performance Reviews in work - the audit trail

I am biding my time until I move on. That doesn’t mean I don’t excel at what I do.
ill be chatting with a few fellas who know @Horsebox on friday evening.
the disgusting Muldoons are organising a 12 pubs of Christmas in tel Aviv, one of the eejits is a FB “friend” of mine and has set up a “group” for the fucking event.
What a tard, anyway ill be asking them about @Horsebox and will update the forum.
unfortunatly this is the line of work where one can become rather limited over time, 3 years is the most you should spend in a company like this and then move the fuck on or esle you become too specialized in the industry ,

My review was moved from 2:30 yesterday afternoon to 9:30 this morning due to prevailing issues which I needed to attend to yesterday evening. Looking forward to discussing my performance over the last 12 months and what is expected over the next 12

let me know how you get on with adding the LEAN element to the discussion as an area for development.
SMS me if necessary, the old Irish mobile you have for me still works
best of luck

We do not operate on the lean, we are at the higher end of the market and our margins reflect this. i don’t see what good it would do me to bring something up that is contrary to our core values

what are you talking about ? “on the lean”?
ok, what i am saying is lost on you, best of luck with the 9 page review, if you have time to invest in that type of non value added stuff you must be working with a total lemonade stand operation altogether

C’mon then chewy, don’t keep us in suspense

Emptying his desk?

Nah, he works in IT. theyd just escort him off the premises

Apologies, @Mac

Was in another meeting since 12:30.

Went as expected. Boss was very satisfied with my performance and growth over the last 12 months which had led me to get a very positive rating for the year but this will not be confirmed until the concensus meeting with his peers and boss takes place in early 2014.

You’ll get a 3/5.

Too early in your career to give you a 4.

There are no 5’s.

Fuck the pats on the head.
What was the pay rise?

In other words, keep the young lad happy with nice reviews until he hits his mid-late 20’s and realises he should have been earning double what he’s on and we’ll feed him the ‘invaluable experience that you wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else’ line.

I got a promotion/pay rise in November. Increment increases from performance are awarded each April. Will not know how much until the concensus meeting takes place

Here Pigeon have some crumbs

Ah the dreamy days of 2007 when I worked for myself…

I gave myself a hard earned bonus of 2K the week before Chelthenham and an extra 3 days of Annual Leave.

Is the recession over yet lads?

@Julio Geordio your a man of business, hows your venture going? Is it safe to back out there yet?

Dublin is rocking anyway KP. All the numbers are good as is the anecdotal evidence, heard a story about houses from a first hand source (that I can’t go into too much detail on) that would put the Celtic Tiger to shame, buyers are in bidding wars over anywhere anyway decent, restaurants jam packed with new ones opening all the time and bookings hard to come by for the better ones, pubs are rammed and there is even new ones opening around the place. Any that close are reopened which would lead you to believe ridiculously high rents are the only issue. People are queuing to get into those overpriced pretentious shitholes again.

House rentals are gone fucking insane as well. I moved recently and you need to have the daft alerts on, because as soon as they were up they’d be gone. First viewer taking them etc, mad shit. You need to have the deposit on you.

Retail is improving but still depressed I believe, rents are killing the high street. I’m not sure they’ll ever come back though with the interweb.

For the first time in ages a lot of lads I know have been moving jobs and there seems to be a bit of upward pressure on wages which is the key to inflation which is ultimately the only way we’ll get out of the shit.

Seems to be improving elsewhere in the country aswell, but only slowly in increments. I think we are heading for a London vs the rest of the UK scenario here in Ireland where there is a complete disconnect between the capital and the rest of the country.

In summary we’re back in the big time*

*but only in Dublin

@Julio Geordio An honest assessment. Dublin is very accessible now anyway, I know 2 guys living in Oranmore who successfully run a business in Dublin yet live in Oranmore. Its a challenge as both have a young family but it can be done.

One guy runs an engineering consultancy business and is after hiring 2 people. (proper hiring not job bridge shit)

Chewy’s company do best practice and separate pay and performance reviews :clap:Meeting focused on performance and goals rather than money I hope?
