A sad read.
He’ll make a fine Politician though which is encouraging.
Decentralisation should be a major topic tbf. Bar farming and Construction of Wind Farms etc there is sweet fuck all going on down there.
Sad to say it but they’d be better off getting the Ferry to Clare.
“I was just cleaning the gutters with the JCB, your Honor”.
Big time. There’s a chance to decentralise a lot of jobs now and take them out of that hellhole called Dublin. But will companies want staff to go back on site after the pandemic passes or will they embrace the change…
I suppose it was better than paying for the care for his mother
Very messy case. Local sentiment would be that he was hard done by, but he didn’t do much to help himself either. His solicitor has played a blinder there.
Muldoons not wanting to live in rural Ireland is another example of dubs attacking rural Ireland
Study reveals almost 20% of houses in Clare are empty (irishexaminer.com)
If all the Dubs would fuck off back to Dublin from Meath, Cavan, Louth, Wicklow and Offally there might places for country people to go
Eh, 20% of houses in clare are empty mate, did you miss that bit
How would you sort that out buddy?
Get Dublin people to pay for muldoons to live in Clare of course - the same as how all problems with rural Ireland are fixed, ask the city slickers to subsidize them
Ahh I thought you might have something constructive to say. Cheers
tax the fuck out of holiday homes & vacant properties
but you hate when people try to fix things through tax
and almost 50% of that 20% are unoccupied holiday homes and 10% of that is empty rentals. there are simlar vacancy levels in Urban Areas
There are a substantial number of vacant properties in our major urban areas. There are 7,995 vacant houses and 16,321 vacant apartments in Dublin city centre. Similarly, in areas of Cork and Galway city the vacancy rate is in excess of 25% of the total housing stock.
