Another horrific accident in Donegal

Awful, but fcuk me, when the story about the nursery school in Thailand came on the news, I had to turn it off. It’s beggars belief.

A lot of bad news lately. The news there the last two days on RTE was reports of one murder into the next (new or older ones that came to court). I can’t remember the news ever being as macabre in that regard as the last two days with so many individual disgusting incidents.

Think its due to courts back in full swing. A backlog of murder cases were up for trial post summer.

But yeah. The news has been seriously bleak lately.

Brutal stuff in Donegal. Seemingly they have made contact with trapped people. Mobile phones I assume. Nightmare stuff if kids involved in particular

Surely they’d have the manpower including volunteers to clear that rubble in a matter of hours? Am I clueless, was there a fear of more explosions

Jesus it’s awful

Doubt its a simple as that.
Cant just have heaps of lads plough in there when people could still be alive in there and in a very dangerous position in terms of what is surrounding them rubble wise. One movement and a massive beam is waiting to come down on you or something.
Its delicate and tricky work to do safefy I’d say

Apparently some of the walls are in a fragile state still and they’re afraid that working on them might result in more of the building falling down.

They’re saying there were schoolkids in the shop when the explosion was caused by a gas leak in one of the apartments.

Desperate tragedy. RTE have a special Morning Ireland on.,

3 confirmed dead so far. God knows how many still unaccounted for

4 more overnight and possibly more. What they just said on the news.

Desperate tragedy.

I’m completely numb here. The amount of times we’ve gone to that shop on our weekend runs out to Ards, Marble Hill and Carrickart is ridiculous.

Donegal is a massive county but very tight knit despite this. The population of Creeslough is only just under 400 but you couldn’t turn around at a sports club, family event, or work without encountering someone from there.

Absolutely unspeakable and very difficult to come to terms with.

Thanks for that.

Im not familiar with the Geography of Donegal. Would it be far from Letterkenny?

25km but you’d but out there in 15/20 minutes. An beautiful part of the world.

I think you’re oblivious to what a complete dickhead you are. Carry on.

Passed through it and was in it only the summer. That’s horrific. You can’t imagine the devastation. God help the families and the rescue workers.

Im not oblivious to anything. Go for a run to cool down.

The man expressed sadness at an unspeakable tradegy that has resulted, so far, in seven people, children among them, never returning home to their families.

You chose to belittle this.

You utter, utter, cunt of a man.
