Another one of those fucking Ulster football threads - don't let the first post fool you

who?

@Nembo_Kid and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy are doing a tremendous job of explaining the Irish rugby teamā€™s defeat, alright.

I totally agree with them that like Donegal, they were victims of their tough, Ulster championship-style route whereas Argentina had an easy, Kerry-style route to the quarter-finals.

Great to have committed rugby and GAA fans like them speaking such sense and demolishing Ewan MacKennaā€™s chip on shoulder nonsense.

Regularly?

Donegal beat Dublin last year, pal.

How am I seeking a leg up for Ulster counties?

What way does it advantage Ulster counties? Iā€™m merely asking for Provincial draws to be reversed in the qualifiers in the name of fairness, youā€™re the one against that.

Proof if it was needed that membo is a crank and has no interest in debating or in formulating solutions.

Which is really concerning for his employers i feel.

Any chance you and Kev could write another 100 posts of circular arguments between yourselves on this topic over the next few hours?

Itā€™s wet out there and Iā€™m bored.

I moved out of this one a while back.

How many times have Donegal beaten Tyrone over that period.

Can you provide the stats for knock out matches as well.

Is there anything to be said about a Champions League type format etc etc

Twice, now why donā€™t you tell me how Ulster teams would have an advantage in my proposed format?

Fuck the qualifiers. Just have a straight knock out loose and your gone. Itā€™s tye fairest for everyone.

What was your format again?

Itā€™s unfair because you wish to guarantee the teams you feel are stronger a game against opposition you feel are weaker. Not by any meritous reason, merely be being from ulster.

As for why im against it, I see no reason why middle ranking sides should be afforded an advantage over so called weaker sides. I understand that you yourself have a midranking line management role and therefore feel some affiliation with the affliction of mediocrity and this influences your (pedestrian ) thinking.

No, I merely wish to reverse the provincial imbalance. If teams are disadvantaged by the provincial championship then they should be protected from this being repeated in the qualifiers.

Why is it a provincial imbalance?. There are more teams in leinster than ulster.

Ulster will have 4 teams in the top 2 divisions dumped into the first round of the qualifiers where they can then draw each other.

Leinster will not.

But Ulster teams are of middle ranking. Why would they be afforded an advantage as a group? Maybe if one team performs to a certain level continuously they should gain an advantage of seeding, a la coefficients(the period could be determined by the GAA but Iā€™d imagine theyā€™d follow the old bakerā€™s rule and plump for a 12 year period-everyone knows that makes sense). That is a position I can understand.
But you seem to wish to gain advantage for your provincial teams because of some imagined group strength. Imagine a situation where Ireland got a better seeding in playoffs because our group had Germany in it for the euro qualifiers and was therefore ā€˜harderā€™. Itā€™s bizarre.

You say itā€™s an advantage?

How is an advantages if theyā€™re only ā€œmid rankingā€ teams?

Where is the advantage is not repeating the pre-determined draw of the provincials?
