Well…???
Racist
They’re great to have but finding places that accept them is the harder part. There is actually an app you can get now that locates all places that accept them, think it is something ridiculous like €900.
18 of them
Or else 8
Just a rule that will help stronger counties.
Yeah. Some debate on it in the O’BYRNE cup etc thread.
So it begins.
Controversy has arisen surrounding the new black card rule with a Cork college considering an appeal against a result following an alleged mistake by referee Kevin Walsh.
Colaiste Chriost Ri, who lost the Corn Ui Mhuiri quarter-final to Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne of Dingle in extra time, are considering an appeal after the Kerry side’s captain, Barra O Suilleabhain, was apparently issued with both a yellow and a black card during the match in Killarney.
Under new rules, O Suilleabhain should have been red carded, but Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne were allowed to replace the midfielder with substitute Gareth O Brosnachain.
Munster colleges serving officer John Brennan told the Irish Examiner: "The referee’s report is expected tonight and if Colaiste Chriost Ri decide to put in an objection, there will be a hearing of the Munster Post Primary CCC committee.
“They have three days to lodge an objection and we will hold off on fixing a date for the semi-final until the three days have passed.”
Chriost Ri manager Aidan Moynihan added: "If that man had not been replaced, the outcome after normal time could have been very different.
"I went on to the field to try and address the issue. I was dismissed quite abruptly by the referee. I was asked to leave the field and if I didn’t, I would be put off.
“The linesman on our side was Eddie Walsh who is from Kerry and part of Eamonn Fitzmaurice’s Kerry backroom team. The other linesman was also from Kerry, Pat Sheehy.
“It was a bit of an ambush position to be putting us in having those officials. The new rules are laid out as plain as day on the GAA website.”
The issue was always going to be below the elite level, ie, Senior Intercounty referees, etc who are bad enough at the best of times. Can you imagine how bad this is going to get with your run of the mill bog standard Club referee? God help us all.
Surely that’s not the Kevin Walsh who’s one of the head honchos with the Munster referees and was going around instructing referees on the new rules before Christmas?

Of course it is. These are the worst cunts ever. A recently retired IC footballer (can’t remember who, maybe a Louth player?)who has taken up refereeing exposed them recently saying he was shocked how much the referees attitude is us against them and he used the phrase “we’ll show these fellas”. I did the referees course on advice of a coach who felt I’d better understand the rules and have more respect for the refs no matter how bad they were. He was wrong, I ended up despising them an their creepy little man syndrome power hungry lecturing. They are rotten to the core.
this is going to be a total disaster…i can see a scenario in club games in the lower leagues, where the teams agreeing with the ref beforehand not to use black cards for the particular match…
It’ll crucify clubs who are struggling to field a team.
Lads will be afraid to tackle because they won’t have a sub to replace them. It’s just another rule brought in with only consideration given to inter-county teams.
Some day it will dawn on people it’s not really the rules but the referees are the problem.
2 refs solves so many issues.

I agree but its hard enough to get one ref for a lot of club games…
Put 10 euros into the match fee and you’d sort that
But would it thought?. Refereeing in any sport is a thankless enough job and those who are willing to do it week in week out do it for either the love of the sport or for their ego. I don’t think adding €10 to a match fee would would lead to a huge amount of people taking up refereeing.
I think it would be a time issue as much if not more than money. Between travelling to and from a game, reffing it, writing the match report and sending it off etc it all adds up especially if you are looking for someone to do two or three matches a week. Unless someone has a serious interets in doing it they aren’t going to be arsed, an extra €10 or not

It was a throwaway figure. Make it 20-30. Whatever it takes to incentivize normal people to want to do it. You are also completely underestimating the greed of some people.
But then you are getting to the point where teams have to pay fairly sizable sums for matches to be played which will effect smaller clubs again, especially if you are proposing there be two referees.
While you may well get more people reffing that is no guarentee that the standard will improve especially if their main reason for reffing is greed
