Anyone ever live in the Middle East?

Couldn’t even get Christy Moore to play there

“ They say the skies of lebanon are burning

Those mighty cedars bleeding in the heat“

A guy at work has a friend living there. Two miles away from the blast and all the windows in the apartment shattered and all the internal doors blown off their hinges.

Must be the most recorded explosion of all time. The videos are insane, my reaction to the first one was “there ain’t no one surviving that”.

It was the shock wave from the blast. Travels at the speed of sound. Most people wouldn’t have experienced one. Scary thing .

Videos were unreal. Poor auld divils over there. Saw a video recently on Beiruit and it looked like a nice place. As someone said, they can’t catch a break. One bloke interviewed seemed to have a slight Aussie accent. I would imagine there’s a lot of over and back between Lebanon and Australia. Michael Cheika is of Lebanese extraction.

Australia is full of Lebs. They were the most dangerous grouping I came across over there, they do a lot of security work and are complete animals.

They have the cut of a nomad about them alright over there.

They’re also the subject of most racism as well, the Aussies are a nasty bunch, Lebbo this and Abbo that

A Lebanese bouncer broke my friends jaw in 3 places a couple of days after he had arrived in Australia. Same group of bouncers pulled a girl out of the pub by her hair a few nights later. It probably coloured my opinion of them after that.

It’s handy then for the Paddy Roasters to bunk in with the Aussies and Lebbo and Abbo this and that around toon.

Fire up a few there

Lebanon should, by dint of geography, be one of the nicest places in the world.
It’s truly sad.

It was. Once.

Well worth reading this while making a mental reservation about possible anti Israeli bias on the authors part. It is a magnificent book.

I read that years ago. Think he updated it since. Good book alright.

Someone told me the IRA used 2 tonnes of this stuff in Canary Wharf

moshe fenglin ( wasnt too happy that israel offered help to the lebanese saying that that the chemical ultimately would have made its way to the israeli border - he has been dismissed thankfully
benny gantz and gabi ashkenazi offered help but as there are no diplomatic relations it will be done thru france

250kg I heard. That would make this “bomb” 10,000 times larger.

1,400kg and 5kg of Semtex.
