I’d assume most of those divorces are separated a while. The Covid divorce numbers will be seen in 4 or 5 years.

Something like 70% of Soviet marriages collapsed within 10 years. 20% of Chinese marriages ended in divorce. I believe Ireland’s rate never got close to our European partners and nowhere near the U.K./US.
A surge here is probably down to Covid delays you’d guess.
Ireland legalising divorce when we did combined with the tough rules always meant we were never going that way. The fear that it would destroy the family were not accurate, other forces drove it.
Met a fella working as a psych nurse the other day, said he’s seeing some amount of people that were in unhappy relationships and two years of covid led to mental breakdowns.
Seems to be an awful high rate of divorce in Shpain. Rooting left right and centre…

It’s funny, some lives were destroyed by the pandemic, others thrived. It’s a bit of luck and a lot of attitude.
If you lost your job or were on pup for a couple of years id imagine it was tough.

Divorce is fair messy. You only get one shot at life, be sure and make the right choices when it comes down to it.

i’d presume that there’s been a corresponding drop in judicial separations since the amended divorce act went through
aye, you’d think the need for them has been obviated.
My friend’s divorce granted today. He’s now fecking off to the UAE for a year with the new Mrs and leaving the kids behind with the ex
