Late 60s and early seventies . No real explanation why . Just a few bought in there and it snowballed . Some influx for December .
When they stopped travelling.
I don’t know why they ended up in Rathkeale in the first place but it’s a bit self fulfilling at this stage.
They used solicitors to anonymously buy houses in settled neighbourhoods, pulled up the caravans etc. crashed the prices of the other houses then bought them up as the locals sold.
Rathkeale suffered a massive population decline in the last 30 years. Basically settled people getting the fuck out and travellers buying up the houses.
They also have much larger families than settled people and so are breeding them out that way as well.
A couple of families, with their birth rate etc. and they wouldn’t be long taking over.

It’s pretty much only happened in the past 40/50 years.
As far as I know it was mainly just the Sheridan clan who had lived in Rathkeale a long time and they just grew and grew and with other traveller families marrying into them they started to spread out all over the town.

Just renewed the yearly pass for Santa PNP this morning. Will be working on the personalised videos for the kids later. The most wonderful time of the year.

I was buying away merrily on amazon this evening.
