There’s no sympathy in this game for anybody. Put the tiles on the board and no more about it.
I understand Mr. Wordle got his wife to look through all the five letter words and mark the words she knew. That left around 2,500 words.
Presumably plurals are not included and obscure words will not be included beyond the extent of her vocabulary. I have not sought out her social media profiles to assess that.
I usually start with STEAM.
That made it pretty easy to get SUGAR in 2.
I should have gotten MOUNT in 2 but went for MOTOR with my 2nd guess instead, which was stupid.
The big advice I have is to always use all your previous information in your next go.
I can see that there might be some exceptions to this though - if you have XOLLY on guess 4 and you’re stuck between JOLLY, HOLLY, FOLLY etc, it might be worth while using your 5th guess to just eliminate letters.
Fucking TAPIR
Fucking FAVOR
Favor was a bad one but surely everybody knows tapir. Of course it’s a large, herbivorous mammal similar in shape to a pig with a short, prehensile nose trunk.
I’m a slain, plain or grain man generally.
Mane too I’d say. Crunt.
I try a different word each day, I believe that is staying true to the soul of wordle and that karma will reward me so.
Tactically speaking you can’t be repeating letters on line one, and you have to get at least four vowels out the first two lines. If I hit a yella line one I’ll invariably use it to start the attempt on line two to narrow or rule that out entirely. I’ve yet to get a two yet but I believe there’s an element of luck involved there and some day somehow maroonandwhite and John McIntyre’s luck will change. I’m happy with my stats
Plenty of fours there today that could have been threes.
I think the silent L might have led fellas in the wrong direction. That’s what happened me anyway. One to watch out for.
First guess was PLEAT. (I start with a different word every day.) No luck there, so I went for BOING to test the O and I. That gave me the N and G and meant U had to be the third letter. I took my own advice posted above about silent letters and WRUNG appeared to me.
That’s how to Wordle.
Type in the letters and no more about it.
I’ve some serious low balling and shenanigans since this kicked off, mainly because it was by me, but this @jellyfish lad needs to start talking here.
I was replying to a work email earlier about backup power and lighting for an equipment room so I started with the word power, no matches so then I tried light.
Foist and joist! Jaysus, moist was screaming out to you there.
Schoolboy error going for Waist when A not in the word from your previous try
It actually probably helped him to get on the right track
