[quote=“north county corncrake”]whats your point here? some english magazine rates someone higher than someone else:rolleyes:

no just thought the Celtic fans on here might want to know…

also you should qualify your above statement by saying " in my opinion"…On a similar note DDR came a very credible 33th up 11 places from last year NCC…

He’s always there to cheer me up. God Bless the Holy Goalie.

Boruc: I’ll never be hailed a hero

by Ronnie Cully

ARTUR BORUC has resigned himself to the fact he will never be regarded as a hero - just a whipping Bhoy - because he believes that is the lot of goalkeepers.

The Celtic shot-stopper has also revealed he is a loner in the Parkhead dressing room with no close friends, even though he has been at the club since 2005.

And, in a frank interview given to a Polish magazine, Boruc claimed being a goalkeeper is a stupid job.

All of which is sure to raise more than a few eyebrows at Celtic, where he earns more than 1million every year.

It will also stun the club’s supporters who revere the man who has just been named the third best keeper in the world - behind Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas and Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon - in a poll conducted by magazine FourFourTwo.

Boruc - who returned to action last weekend after knee surgery - pulled no punches when he spoke about his career and he is quoted as saying: "To be honest, I believe I’ve got a stupid job.

"We are idiots. We must be because our mistakes are so visible.

"If my team concedes a goal, no-one says it’s the team’s mistake. People say Boruc conceded a goal.

"But when we win a game, no-one says it’s thanks to a goalkeeper.

“Success always belongs to a group. Failure is usually linked to a goalkeeper.”

No-one attached any blame to Boruc for the defeat in Aalborg on Tuesday which sent Celtic spiralling out of Europe for the season.

Manager Gordon Strachan is relying on the players’ unity as a group to help them bounce back from that bitter disappointment.

But Boruc revealed that, in his case, he has no close relationship with any of his team-mates.

He said: "I don’t think it’s a good idea to make friends with people you are playing with.

“There is no deep friendship between football players.”

Boruc cites Olympiakos and Poland star Michael Zewlakow as the only exception he makes to that rule and said: "He is the only footballer I know how to talk to.

"Those times when atmosphere in the team was very important are gone. Now at Celtic, every player counts on himself. Everyone thinks about personal success.

“Thanks to that way of thinking we win a lot of games.”

Boruc has attracted a lot of public criticism for his lifestyle and fitness levels. But he claimed Strachan has never asked him to lose weight.

He said: "As long as I give 100% on the pitch and I do my best, no-one complains about me. That’s the rule.

“But there is also another rule: You are as good as your last match. I like those rules.”

Boruc can’t imagine his life after his career is over. But, despite well-documented problems both in his personal and professional life this year, he remains content with his lot.

He said: "My body is my work tool. But I don’t care about it that much.

"I don’t ski or do bungee jumping and the like. I’m lazy. I don’t like to read. I am ignorant.

"I don’t have a hobby. I just like to spend some time in my home.

“I feel good like that. I like my life.”

The I am lazy quote would explain why he still plays in the SPL

Oooh, surprised to see a bitchy remark about Celtic - that’s unlike you KIB Man!

“It will also stun the club’s supporters who revere the man who has just been named the third best keeper in the world - behind Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas and Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon - in a poll conducted by magazine FourFourTwo”

This fact stunned me. I haven’t been very impressed from what I’ve seen of the Holy Goalie this year to be honest

Yep, club form hasn’t been good. It’s probably being voting solely on his Euro 2008 performances, which were superb behind a crap defence.

I was hoping to see him against Ireland last week but that tramp Fabianski was playing.

Never mentioned Celtic

I still love this bastard.

Talking about how he felt about the support he received from the fans on Wednesday night against Villarreal after his monumental fook up at Hibs on Sunday.

‘If I was a woman, I would have just started crying on the pitch.’

Legend

Where the fuck is he off to with the cap though.

HE has won five domestic honours, scaled incredible heights in the Champions League and enjoyed some of the best moments of his career but Artur Boruc still has one wish to score a goal for Celtic.

The Pole, who once scored a penalty for Legia Warsaw in a Polish League match, has often spoken about his dream for finding the net for Celtic. And speaking exclusively to the Celtic View, he reiterated his ambition to score a goal.

Yet, almost 160 games later and Boruc is still waiting for that moment. Will it come? What will the celebration be like if it does happen? Lets just say it wont be subdued.

Its disappointin eh, laughed Boruc, in his best Glaswegian accent. Ive always said Id love to score a goal for Celtic but its not happened yet.

I remember scoring a penalty for Legia but it would be better if I could score in the last minute or something at a time when it really meant something.

That would be amazing. I heard the Reading goalkeeper came up for a corner and scored a goal. Hes a lucky guy.

It would be good if it could happen, but well see. First and foremost, Im a goalkeeper I know that. I suppose I should leave the scoring to the strikers.

Here is that goal again-

'Mon The Holy Goalie!

Artur’s penalty when we were 10-9 down in the shoot-out:

Still making me laugh today.

Utter legend.

A holy silhouette:

You are bent for Boruc

Is it true that he clattered McGeady after training last week?

There was a bust up alright. McGeady had a black eye afterwards - presumably from that incident. All sorted now according to Strachan.

The Scottish Sun devoted pages 1, 4 and 5 to the great man today:

She’s just a goal digger

By GERRY DUFFY and ROBERT McAULAY

THE cousin of bad-Bhoy Celtic keeper Artur Boruc last night told how his family fears the stars latest love is a GOLD-DIGGER.

Dominik Boruc is worried former pop wannabe Sara Mannei, 24, is simply dating the controversial Hoops ace for fame and fortune.

The soccer idol has been haunted by a host of recent howlers on the park, boozy benders off it and the break-up of his marriage.

But Dominik, 23, insisted the Polish playboy is simply a misunderstood nice guy whos changed since meeting his new girlfriend.

Last night he said: Sara has a child from an old relationship and we worry that she may be looking at Artur as security instead of love.

She has a history of looking for fame by going on Polski Idol (the Polish version of Pop Idol) and also for looking for guys with money, as her ex was a gangster.

Money

I do not trust her greatly. Artur has changed a bit since they have got involved and is not as open as he was.

Boruc, 28 dubbed the Holy Goalie by Celtic fans was fined by club and country this season for breaking curfews to go on drinking sessions.

The star thumped team-mate Aiden McGeady in a dressing room bust-up and was even the subject of unfounded rumours about his private life in the run-up to Sundays Old Firm clash at Parkhead.

He was also criticised for dumping wife Kasia, 28, and baby son Aleks for his new lover.

Sarahs ex is feared Polish crook Rafal Majewski. He fathered her three-year-old daughter Olivia and is now said to be serving time in a Poznan jail on charges related to organised crime.

Dominik, who now lives in Mexico, said thats in sharp contrast to family man Boruc.

He said: I see Artur more of a brother. I feel he gets a bad press in Scotland.

Hes trying to make money and is sharing it with the family back home. He has changed all our lives for the better.

Hes a good guy but he has things in him that makes him do bad things he cant explain.

But Dominik insists Boruc did NOT ditch Kasia for Sara, pictured above with the player.

Pals say the player plans to wed his new girl and theyve even splashed out on a massive home near Celtics training HQ. Dominik said: Our family are not so sure about Sara. But Artur never left Kasia for Sara.

It was just confusing because Kasia got pregnant after the split had started.

He added: Artur was seeing a girl in Glasgow but things did not work.

I am still in contact with Kasia and baby Aleks. Artur and Kasia both love their son and I dont like it when I read he is not a good father, because this is not true.

Boruc has twice been hammered by his bosses this season for his wild partying.

He was even spotted on a drinking session with Sara in Poland while he was supposed to be recovering from injury.

But his cousin says the former Legia Warsaw star doesnt let his lifestyle get in the way of his football.

Party

Dominik who often celebrates his roots with Boruc by making the L sign in pictures said: He does not go out to party very much but when he does he does make the best of it and has a good time.

This month The Scottish Sun told how Boruc left McGeady with a black eye after clashing at Celtics training complex in Lennoxtown, near Glasgow.

In December 2006, Kasia quit the family home in Glasgow for Poland. They had been together since they were 18 and wed seven years ago.

Boruc was later forced to deny his marriage was on the rocks amid rumours about his friendship with whisky firm worker Joanne McQuillan.

By November, hed splashed out on a four-bedroom mansion in upmarket Bearsden shortly after getting together with Sara.

She and Olivia had already moved into his 450,000 West End home and last month they all moved to the new pad.
