AS Roma 2011/12

Xherdan Shaqiri’s agent has confirmed they have spoken to Roma and said that he’s interested in a move to us.

Make it happen please Sabatini and Enrique.

Apparenlty Sabatini was in England today discussing the futures of Clichy and Vucinic.

Bojan for €10m in a permanent transfer. Barcelona have a clause to re-sign him, that’s the word on the streets of Rome.

Borriello has joined permanently for €10m.

Douglas Costa said he would like to join Roma (or Napoli), don’t know if there’s any interest on Roma’s part.

Not too gone on Borriello signing. Could we possibly release him again on another co-ownership deal?

Is Bojan completed yet?

I have a feeling that’s what will happen with Borriello, we had an obligation to buy him I think and faced a penalty or some sanction if we didn’t. I’m fairly confident I read an article to that effect some time ago.

Sabatini seems confident the deal is certain, Barcelona say different.

I have the same feeling regarding Borriello but wasn’t entirely certain - that’s why I bandied about the possibility of it.

Roma are expected to complete their swoop for Nantes talent Loic Nego in the next few days.

The right-back is available on a free transfer after impressing in Ligue 2 with Nantes this season.

He was also of interest to the likes of Benfica, Cesena and Saint-Etienne.

It is widely reported in Italy and France that Roma have secured a deal for Nego and will sign him possibly as early as this weekend.

He will become the first signing since Coach Luis Enrique took over.

Don’t know much about this guy.

Bojan has said that he hasn’t signed yet. Viviano deal seems off as Bologna submitted some errored paperwork which allowed Inter to pick up his transfer rights. We have now, apparently, changed our attention back to Stekelenberg.

Barcelona target Jose Angel will join Roma within 48 hours - agent

Sporting Gijon left back Jose Angel will be a Roma player within 48 hours, the player’s agent has claimed

Sporting Gijon left-back and Barcelona target Jose Angel Valdes is set to snub the Catalan club and join Luis Enrique’s Roma in the next two days, according to the player’s agent.

Jose Angel, 21, was part of the Spain team that won the European Under-21 Championships last week and had been expected to join Barca following that tournament, but it now appears the Gijon native will end his 14-year association with his hometown club in favour of life in the Italian capital.

Speaking to ForzaRoman.info, the defender’s agent, Alfredo Martinez, said “Jose Angel likes the project and would like to work with Luis and Enrique and Ivan De La Pena. The definitive agreement will arrive within 48 hours.”

Jose Angel’s arrival looks set to trigger speculation that former Liverpool full-back John Arne Riise could be on his way out of the Stadio Olimpico as Luis Enrique looks to bring back the glory days to Roma, who endured a disappointing season, with an injection of youth.

We are perceived as a bigger and better club than Barca, even by players from Spain itself.

Any more on Shaqiri Bandage? He would be an excellent acquisition.

Todays news:
Roma have apparently turned down a £13m bid from Spurs for Vucinic, we are holding out for £18m.

Sabitini said he expects the Bojan deal to be wrapped up within 48 hours, the only thing delaying the transfer at the minute is the buy back clause Barcelona are insisting on.

Sabitini also refused to comment on Jose Angel which leads me to believe the deal is nowhere near as advanced as earlier speculated.
Bit disappointed at the pace of our transfer dealings as of yet. I hope once the formalities of the Bojan deal arre complete, there will be a domino effect.

Simon Kjaer is the latest name to be linked with us, had a poor season with Wolfsburg last year but looked the part at Palermo before that.

Would be very pleased to see the young Dane in the yellow and red next season.

Despite insisting they’re not interested, reports continue to claim Roma have clinched a €12m deal for Erik Lamela.

Representatives of River Plate are in Italy today in a bid to sell Lamela, who won’t stay following their relegation.

Sky Sport Italia continue to claim director general Walter Sabatini has already held negotiations and reached a basic agreement.

The Giallorossi would hand over €12m plus performance-related bonuses for the creative midfielder.

Lamela is set to sign a five-year contract worth €1.5m per season.

“The River Plate President may be in Italy to sell Lamela, but it won’t be to Roma,” insisted Sabatini on Radio Mana Mana earlier.

“We ended our interest in the player around a month ago.”

Roma were in the race to sign Ricky Alvarez from Velez Sarsfield, but pulled out last week and he has now been sold to Inter

It is my considered opinion that Ricky Alvarez is tricky and skillful but lacks penetration and doesn’t hurt opponents anywhere near often enough for all his fancy and eye catching play. I think Lamela is the better and more effective player. He will be a star for Roma and I expect him to sign over the next few days.

Note, I have never seen either of these two people play football.

Todays news.

Doni looks set to depart for Liverpool, deal could be concluded by tonight.

Bojan’s move will not go through until Barcelona have signed a replacement.

Emilio Insua has been linked with a move today, my stance is indifferent about this.

Also linked is Real Madrid’s Sergio Canales, more positive about this news.

Sabatini has poured cold water over reports concluding that Lamela is a done deal.

I believe we have accepted a €2.6m bid from Fulham for John-Arne Riise. I would like to wish John every success for the future. He was very good in his spell with us and I have very fond memories of his emergency centre back performance in the CL against Arsenal a couple of years ago when he was outstanding.

Best of luck JAR.

dont think i ever celebrated a goal as much as when he scored against juve 2 seasons ago & ran to my fellow romanista

Football Italia is reporting that the Argentinian media is reporting that we’ve signed Lamela. I await official confirmation one way or the other.
