Yes, it seems to be a common practice with Barca in the sale of their youth players. I am hoping Sabatini will be disputing the terms of the statement Barca have released. It’s the fee that he could return for that I can’t get my head around, basically Roma will be responsible for his wages and development and if he does well all we will receive is pretty much the fee we paid for him or having to throw out an extra €28m to keep him.
It doesn’t seem a brilliant commercial arrangement for Roma at first glance. The only positive is that they’ve capped the outlay at €40m no matter what happens but allowing him to return for no gain would be a disaster. I’d guess there’ll be an agreement somewhere in between and Roma will be able to buy out the option for considerably less but have 2 years to finalise that negotiation. I imagine the Zlatan loan to Milan is even more complex in terms of options and sellbacks.
I am a man of great character and courage. Licking up to people is not in my game. My friendship with fellow champions like Bandage, TASE, Rocko, Sid and others is based on a mutual connection of various subjects. As I have got to know these fine men, I have guaged their characters and I am proud to say I share this messageboard with them. It is a pleasure to read and converse online in a number of diverse subjects with them and if we have crass and disrespectful characters like yourself trying to degrade like minded individuals then I will see it fit to cut you down a peg or two. The respect I have for these proud forumites is big and I know the respect is reciprocated. You are not smart, eloquent or good natured enough to mingle in our circle and this is what is feeding your posts of downright vitriol.
Sabatini has confirmed Menez and Vucinic will leave this summer.
Roma’s Walter Sabatini confirms Mirko Vucinic & Jeremy Menez are set to leave the club
Roman sporting director says Montenegrin striker and 24-year-old Frenchman will leave the Stadio Olimpico, while reiterating that Daniele De Rossi will stay in the Italian capital
Both players have been long linked with a departure from Stadio Olimpico, with Vucinic bidding an emotional farewell to fans following his goal against Sampdoria on the closing day of the season, while Menez, who is expected to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain, fell out of favour with interim coach Vincenzo Montella.
Speaking at a press conference, Sabatini has confirmed the rumours regarding both players, stating: “It was a painful choice. He [Menez] has not been sold yet, but I have given him permission to leave the retreat and meet PSG. I regret not being able to work with him.”
On Vucinic, who has become a popular figure at the club since his €7 million move from Lecce in 2006, Sabatini added: “It could be painful, he is a very strong player, but [he] is likely to leave. It is a very real possibility, we will replace them in the best way.”
Finally, on the subject of the future of midfielder [color="#004276"]Daniele De Rossi, who is out of contract in the summer of 2012, Sabatini stated that he will not be tempted into selling the Italy man to avoid losing him on a free.
“We are ready to take the risk. He is not on the market and we will do everything we can to keep him.”
