Ashes 2015

Strange decision to only go with three seamers in a must win game. They could really toil tomorrow if the sun stays out. England could post 500/550 by shortly after tea.

Iā€™ve made the point any number of times that this Australian batting line up has consistently failed over the last two years outside of their comfort zone of hard bouncy pitches. Of 11 tests played in India, England & Pakistan (UAE) in 2013 & 2014, 9 were lost and 2 drawn, most of those defeats featuring calamitous batting collapses. Whatā€™s happening with their batting on this tour is consistent with whatā€™s gone on overseas for the last number of years.

Iā€™m not quite sure why I would resign from the board @balbec , Iā€™m not an Australian selector.
What can anyone say about that? It was pathetic, but I have been consistent in my concerns about the Australian batting.
Nothing however should take away from a quite stunning, stunning perfiormance by Stuart Broad and England. They deserve all the plaudits they get.

ā€œPomicideā€ thought that one was quite funny.

You really need to resign mate. In private conversations, both myself and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy expressed grave concerns about the Australian set up and knew that the urn was unlikely to be going back down under.

Did you ever contemplate, for just one minute of your 4 hour daily commute, that this Australian team were utterly shit ?

Fuck Australia. Fuck England. Fuck The Ashes.

You did say predict Australia to retain the Ashes though?

OK lads, I accept my fate and duly resign from the board.

297-5. Root just gone. Wood playing a few shots.

Ah donā€™t, youā€™re great craic!

Oh go on then, Iā€™ll come back.

England and Wales declared on 391-9. Seems an odd number of wickets down to be declaring on.

Australia absolutely cruising now - 14 with no loss in reply.

England should have batted to 500. Sloppy from them today not to push on.

Australia only 11/2 to win this.

This is a test match of records.

England have broken the record for the fewest letters contained in the surnames of a team - 53.

Ben Stokes has just bowled the one millionth ball in test match cricket in England. David Warner guides it for four to bring Australia to 75/0.

Rogers OUT.

But wait. Itā€™s a NO BALL!

Rogers NOT OUT!

Itā€™s just like the Liverpool managerial saga.

No reprieve this time.

Stokes dismisses Rogers and Warner in quick succession.

Marsh just gone. A third for Stokes.

Stuey Broad nails Smith.

What a catch by Stokesy.

136/4.

ā€œWarner is a slow learner - exactly the same shot he hit at Edgbaston.ā€

ā€œA funky field, a funky declaration by Alistair Cook.ā€

Funky commentary by Nasser Hussain.

Broad passes out the great Freddy Trueman to become Englandā€™s 4th best wicket taker.
