Pretty much all the discussion and reportage Iāve seen and heard about it is that it was the right decision and long overdue, though the circumstances were unfortunate. everyone here would be quite happy to see Nevill retain his place and Haddin never play again. I havenāt heard anything about the players being unhappy about it, where did you see that?

Some of the ex-players like Hayden and Punter who are close to the team also critical. Also that Clarke not being a selector had no say about it.
Haydenās been flailing around trying to find some way of being relevant for years, no one pays him any attention. The only time you see Punter in Australia now is on adverts for Vitamin pills.
Youāll be interested to hear that Punter is part of the Sky commentary team. Heās actually quite good and insightful.
That doesnāt surprise me, thereās a very good cricketing brain there. Unfortunately I believe he only commentates for Channel 9 here, so Iād never listen to him as Iād only listen to the ABC Grandstand team.
He doesnāt commentate for Channel Nine, unless he started to in this series. Donāt think heād fit in with the horrible matey banter tone they go for. Maybe if they just put him in with Chappeli, who does seem genuinely bewildered by it. Only place Iāve seen Punter commentate before this was in Big Bash League, where he was also quite good.
I think heās had a few āguestā appearances. I believe he detests Michael Slater, which is a pretty common reaction to him.
