As a few astute observers said at the time, Tiielmanns was a great get
He’s been poor enough more than good. Hopefully settling in now
Watching this since the start of the second half. Villa have been very good and a well deserved equaliser there. 1-1.
Better team overall.
Up the Villa.
A good ebening.
Duran Duran
We are Champions League. Unreal
Dougie has made Clane shite out of Rio there.
That’s just wonderful
Rio is still hurting from Rudiger blanking him at the Bernabeu

Gary Shaw RIP
I went down an Aston Villa 1980-82 rabbit hole on YouTube when they were tearing it up last winter. Shaw was a brilliant player for a fleetingly short time, he had his career ruined by serious injury. My impression of him was always that of all time Aston Villa folk heroes, he was the biggest, probably in a way because his career was ruined at such a young age, a bit like Paul Lake for Manchester City, except that Shaw was the real deal, he propelled his team to win the league and the European Cup.
Gary Shaw was younger than Gary Lineker. Lineker wasn’t heard of when Shaw was scoring 20 league goals in a title winning season. That’s how good he was. He got a knee injury in 83 that finished him really. Sad day for us Villans
How good was Gordon Cowan?
Knew very little of him until I read an article last week where I forget who it was said he was their hero growing up and they based their game on him.
Canny player but a level below the real top midfielders. He was a big factor in Villa’s 1989/90 title charge, he left in the mid-80s to go to Bari.
Graham Taylor started him for England instead of Paul Gascoigne at Lansdowne Road in November 1990. It was the first bizarre selection decision Taylor made as England manager.
