Gonna be a 4th?

Ah that’s disappointing. 4th. Great race. Just didn’t have that extra gear. Left it all out there.

Ran a savage race

Fourth place in a major finals, as Irish a result as a 1-1 victory.

We’re some nation for 4th place finishes, she ran a great race.

Hard luck Ciara. It must be gutting for her.

Fine run in a class field

Couldn’t have done much more
Some last lap by Kipyegot

Great run. She’s up against some very stiff competition. 4th is a shitter though.

She blitzed Muir.

That’s just devastating. The run of her life. She’s just amazing. Jerry is fucking and blinding from beyond the grave I’d say

National record, can’t ask anymore than that.

I was thinking of the mullet headed Yerra in that last lap.

Even more disappointing considering how far ahead of fifth she was.

Brilliant run. She’s fair tough. On final bend I thought she might have caught the girl who finished 2nd.

Mageean’s a class act.

Hasaan got a few paces ahead of her and Ciara just didn’t have the kick to get back to her.

There’s something about the personalities of our best female runners over the years that makes them incredibly endearing. They tend to come across like the dead sound Irish girls you get talking to on inter-rail trips because they overhear you speaking Irish or see you wearing a GAA jersey. Well, Derval O’Rourke and Ciara Mageean do anyway. Sonia was a bit more aloof but that was down to her natural shyness, which was very endearing. Catherina McKiernan was a bit similar. Rhasidat Adeleke is a different category altogether, she’s like if we produced a footballer like Kylian Mbappé. Firepower.
