Just watching this on delay. Adeleke would have been expected to win that. Good run nonetheless. Mageean had a shocker. Looks likes she’ll be lucky to make Paris final on this form.
A PB for Klaver was it.
Adeleke is an absolute super star. She is just some talent.
She’ll need 48.90 to medal which is very possible and 48.40 to win gold.
Wouldn’t worry yet about Mageean. Middle distance trajectory is different.
She has to come back down to go back up.
A 0.2s PB and her first run under 50 this season. Dragged along in the slipstream. I’d say our girl was in 2nd gear for it all

I’d not be worried just yet. She won a Europeans. You can’t stay up at a peak beyond a week for middle distance so she had to come back off it.
Compare her to say Mark English who got slip streamed to national records post Europeans and who won’t get near those times at Olympics.
PB got Ingebritzen. He’ll be hard beaten
I’m hoping it’s that. I just saw Jess Hull broke the WR in that race today. She ran out of her skin to be 2nd to Kipyegon last week setting an Oceania record. Throw Laura Muir back in and a European win seems a long way off the top table.

Femke Bol smashes her own European Record and becomes the 2nd female ever to run sub 51 for 400mH in 50.95. Building nicely for that event in Paris between herself and McLaughlin-Levrone

Jessie Barr joining the RTE Olympics athletics commentary team.
Rhasidat is down to run 200m in London this weekend I think. I don’t think she’ll have another race before Paris? Coach Flo’s noise about a sub 49 run before Paris seems a bit odd
