As in “get the fook out of here mate”.
I got carried away. Ignore the incorrect Carribean mention and the rest is still valid
So Warholm pulls out of the 400mH and Mondo gives up on the Pole Vault on a paltry 6.02m. Both fucked after the 100m last night. Put that event on tonight and it’s box office. They’ve fucked this one up badly but hopefully they learn from it
Anyone read the article in the Times yesterday about Cheptegai and the trend of African female runners being killed for money and land. Hard to believe this is happening in this day and age.
It also states half of Kenyan women half suffered abuse from their partners.
Few Irish up in the next 40 mins in Switzerland below. Mark English and Luke McCann in the 800m, Sarah Lavin and Sharlene too
https://www.youtube.com/live/7JoYneWKqNY?si=-oYhZ2imppECRLww
PB for Luke McCann as he pips English on the line for 2nd. Was nearly 3rd last with 200m left and finished like a train
Sharlene up now against Lieke Klaver
Sharlene pips her on the line! Savage running from her to win
Sarah Lavin up now
Orange is a great colour on her
Ideal lane draw for Rhasidat later. Everyone outside her to chase down and no one passing on inside. 7.04pm Morton Stadium time. Virgin Media and BBC2
Rhasidat a fairly modest 4th but promoted to 3rd as Naser was DQ’ed for running into the wrong lane. Sydney McLaughlin ran a quicker time that the Diamond Final over 400m earlier while running in leggings.
Rhasidats last 4 runs have almost been identical. Well positioned at 250-300m and then seems legless for the final 50m. My guess is that Rome absolutely bottomed her out and she had no time to recover from it given she was apparently training through it. We all thought it was amazing at the time but hindsight is amazing and all that.
Hopefully she’ll be back stronger for next year with a good winter behind her and heading for the podium in Tokyo.
Keep doing the same thing. Keep getting the same result
Her 200m splits have varied a lot over the last 4 races though I think. they tried something different in Poland but no difference in result. In the US she was used to being closing down others, she’s in the big leagues now where the ones in front don’t come back to her. Sub 49 well within her ability
Hopefully she’ll come back stronger next year.
Holmes seems to have the better of her now too and i think she’s the same age or even younger. Doesn’t bode well.
Ah here, she beat her once in an end of season race and is 2 years older than Rhasidat. Sure Charlie Dobson won the mens 400m this evening and didn’t even make the Olympic Final.
In horse racing language it’s the equivalent of a horse winning a big pot in Aintree before reverting to type the following season
I think this lad was mentioned on here during the Olympics. You’d wonder what could have happened Sarah Lavins career had she joined up with him somehow
