Wasn’t expecting that !

Rhasidat finishes 3rd in 1:30:30. Didn’t see race and have no clue if that’s a good time or not over a random distance. Winner won in 1:28:81.

I’m hoping this is a nice experiment to work on her last 100m stamina rather than trying to turn her into an 800m runner

You’d have to imagine it is, seeing that she finished well behind two no names

That’s fairly pedestrian. She must be in middle of some block of stamina sessions

There’s some cracking indoor action today at what’s called the Keeley Klassic in Birmingham. Keeley was supposed to doing a WR attempt herself but has cried off. Really keen to see how Israel goes after a winter training with that US crew.

I think this time 2 weeks back no Irish man had run below 1.46 for 800m indoors. Mark English has done it twice since then and Cian McPhillips did it last night. Auto Q for Euro indoors and B standard for World Indoors and Worlds in Tokyo.

51.91 for Sharlene in the 400m final, Phil Healy second and Rachel McCann in third

Israel well beaten. A newbie walked the 400m men. Might add to our relay team with Barr retired

That 400m winner is only 17. Very impressive to be running that time at such a young age.

Femke Bol skipping the individual 400m. Klaver is the favourite but Sharlene has a realistic medal shout in it too.

Sarah Healy has a very realistic chance of a medal in the 3000m. And the mixed 4x400m should be in with a shout of making the final at least.

I need to brush up on my Pentathlon research before gauging Kate O’Connors chances!

She’s ranked 2nd in Europe heading into this but it’s a fairly irregularly run event so some folks competing won’t have competed in 1 this season. That being said, she’s in an upward curve and has a good chance at medaling.

A word also for Andrew Coscoran who is in the form of his life. Has somewhat disappointed in big championships before but at his best he has a shot at a medal here behind Ingebretsen

Any Irish interest this evening

Cc @Mac

Cathal Doyle must have gotten tripped up in his heat going off twitter

Derval smothering with a cold

The RTE athletics punditry and commentary team are really good. Far ahead of anything else RTE can offer in other sports.

No doubt McBennett will undo it soon enough.
