I’m not sure it works like that, particularly with breast cancer, I’ve seen things that say it’s the opposite. Although we don’t know what sort of cancer Ciara Mageean has, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in younger women.
I worry when I hear about younger people especially younger women getting cancer that sometimes younger patients take longer to diagnose because doctors don’t believe a younger person is likely to have cancer or it simply might not occur to a patient that particular symptoms could be cancer and there’s also the possibility of cancer being symptomless until a pretty advanced stage.
God bless her with her treatment anyway, she’s one of the most popular people in Ireland never mind one of the most popular athletes.

Cancer prognosis often worse with younger people as their cells turn over more quickly. Cancer targets these cells and therefore can spread more quickly in younger patients.
Her fitness, however, would hopefully stand her in good stead to survive harsh treatment regimens if required.
Hopefully she’ll come through it ok. She’s an admirable woman

Diamond League on Virgin 3, Adeleke up soon and Healy running later. World record in women’s 5k. Almost unbelievable, 61.5 final lap and looked like she had plenty in the tank.

Rhasidat 4th I think in 51.33. started very slow and was passed on her inside fairly early on. Seemed to finish stronger than her last few races but very slow time by her standards
Just ran, miles off it, 4th I’d say. Sydney McLaughlin won it and time wasn’t even that quick.
