The nationals are on next weekend but not sure if she’s running. Afaik the cut off for Birmingham qualification is next Sunday so I think the nationals were brought forward a week or two (might be wrong on that).

I think I read somewhere that she intended on running in the nationals.
It’s all a bit sad really the way it’s gone so wrong for her

I thought I saw somewhere today that the cutoff was the 24th but hopefully it’s the 26th

There’s a really good piece with Cathal Dennehy during the week with Sophie Becker where she described how 2024 broke them all. Sharlene is the only one who’s bounded back. They all ran to the absolute top end of their ability in a number of races so close together than it took its toll on them. @TheUlteriorMotive mentioned at the time that Rhasidat trained through the Euros and was doing savage sessions while racing in Rome so something eventually has to give.

She’d be as well out of Texas now if she can afford it. Maybe she has to stay there for the sake of her Nike deal but at this stage she needs a change of scenery and environment to salvage things.

It is the 26th so hopefully she can do it in Santry. Great chance to get a crowd in to roar her around.

I’d meant to add to this that both Natalia Kazsmarek and Lieke Klaver have both had similar issues in returning to top form since 2024. The Europeans were ridiculously competitive and only 2ish months between them and the Olympics.

Decent showings at the European U18s in Rieti in Italy the past few days. The needle pushes upwards still.

Ciara Mageean was interviewed on the pitch at half time today she got a fantastic reception

The highlight of the day for the neutral. She is an incredibly impressive woman, as likeable an elite athlete as Ireland has ever produced.

I’d say she behaved better than that Taylor cunt as well

Never in doubt. Watched it there. Eased home in 22.80.

Mawdsley pulled up… hammer maybe. 80 metres in.

Looked like some of the old spark was back. Into a 1.1m/s headwind so plenty more juice left in the time

Forgive my ignorance but does Adeleke making the qualifying standard in the 200m mean she’s restricted to running the 200m in Birmingham or does it translate over to the 400m & qualify her for that too?

Only the 200m. She’d need to run the 400m time to run in that.

Would she have a chance of a final/medal at 200?

Her PB would have her in medal contention but she’s not in PB shape. She should make a final I’d say.

Buggy O’Meara will be hard bet

That’s a balls for Mawdsley with the Euros on the horizon.

Great to see how much time Rhasidat spent around afterwards with hundreds of kids. She’d been fairly active on Social Media the last while after a long time off it and seems to be much more naturally content while around at home. Hopefully its the start of a form rebound of sorts and she gets back close to her best for Birmingham.
