Auld lads whinging about having a few pints

North Kerry and Louth.

Itā€™s a weird one alright.

Must have been some savage Harp sales rep in North Kerry at one stage or something

No further, itā€™s west alright. Glin I think they do.

I had a pint of it Christyā€™s one evening for old times sake. It was fairly rough.

Harp is catching on in a lot of spots since the Heineken prices skyrocketed. A bad pint of Harp is absolutely chronic though.

I canā€™t stomach it at all. Has to be ice cold and if a beer has to be ice cold then itā€™s just shit

Carling too

A large bottle of Harp off the cooler was a grand drink back in the day.

Harp was massive in the 80s wasnā€™t it?I remember my older brother used to drink it until (he said) they changed the recipe.

I often drank it.

Always brings to mind this ad

I find that pubs that have Harp on draft wouldnā€™t have Carlsberg or Budweiser

Iā€™ll have a pint bottle about once a month. Very refreshing.

If I was going for a pint of lager instead of a stout in a pub here, which would be rare, Iā€™d call a Harp (unless Iā€™m in the craft beer place).

Until Iā€™d say 1984 pubs had only three taps, Guinness, Smithwicks and Harp. An odd one in Waterford might have Murphys. You could get large bottles of the three beers aforesaid and large bottles of Bass, Carling and Phoenix. You might also encounter a bottle of Barley Wine.

Fancy Dan pubs would also have had Heineken and/or Carlsberg taps.

After that on draft came Hoffmans, Furstenberg and Fosters. Bud on draft came later. Some time in the late eighties/early nineties I got a pint of Kronenbourg on draft in the Sheds in Clontarf.

If the tap is used regularly I know Iā€™m sound. But if I donā€™t see any punters ordering I take that as a sign to steer clear.

Coors has destroyed Heineken sales in Munster.

A awful lot of Coors being sold everywhere alright.Too sweet for me though I canā€™t drink it.

I canā€™t drink it either but itā€™s cleaned out Heineken and I used to drink Heineken when I was first started venturing out.

Day drinking in Dublin a few weeks ago I couldnā€™t believe the amount of lads on Heineken. It was like going back in time.

Coors done adds where lads would be drinking a bottle with a lime in it. I think thatā€™s what started it during lock down.

Moretti stuck around a lot longer than I wouldā€™ve expected. I was thinking itā€™d be like Peroni and be done away with after a few months.

Coors Light is awful piss.

Any beer that needs a fruit in it, is a shit beer. Yes Iā€™m talking to you Corona

That was some fad around 1990, the bit of lime stuck in the top of the Corona. Innocent times.

Miller is the nicest bottled beer I think,

Not that I have drank them in a while.
