Its a nice country to live in although as a tourist there is pretty much no reason to come. Its expensive by Asian standards but cheaper than Western Europe. Good variety of food (quality is mediocre to above average), excellent weather (imo), almost non-existent taxes, has the world’s best airport, no crime, clean, convenient if you want to travel as its surrounded by loads of nice countries, wages are ok by Asian standards, people are generally polite, excellent public transport etc.
Disadvantages are the utterly awful customer service - by far the worst I’ve ever experienced - which seems to be a joint Chinese-Malay problem, the small country syndrome numerous people have and the fact that you can see everything of interest in two days.
