I would imagine that as soon as they saw that CCTV footage their blood ran cold and they knew exactly who/what they were dealing with. And the mind has to boggle at how they knew they were dealing with a rape/ murder before they had a body and were dealing with an unco-operative suspect.
The Irish government should be looking at getting a full explanation from the Australian authorities about why he was a free man in society. That’s scarcely believable, that fucking dipsy that didn’t report his attack on her should also be charged.

That doesn’t make it acceptable. It’s a disgrace in Ireland, especially in poor Manuela’s case 
but it shouldn’t be let slide just because it has happened in other countries in the past. The guy was on parole ffs, so if he was to re-offend he serves the rest of his time, in this case he did re-offend and got 3 months. How the fuck did it take the cops so long to get this guy? They spent a day searching her house and investigating her husband, the minute she went missing surely this mentally ill fuck would have been top of the list?
I’m not sure I can remember a case that’s torn at our collective heartstrings quite like this one.
