Mickee - the longer I’m here the more you realize how deeply racist, backward and narrow minded WA and it’s inhabitants are. I work at a Semi professional football club and you can see a massive divide. Some of the players don’t know the names of the indigenous boys and worse again some of the coa hinge staff don’t know them either. I have noticed that white people here find it very hArd to even smile at aboriginal people. It’s pretty disgusting. And of course in typical Aussie fashion it’s completely the black fellas fault.
The Irish - Meh. A big portion have gone from making very good money at home to disgusting money here. They can be hard to take.
Another bunch are great and are as irish as ever and the craic is good.
Then you have the living the dream and scumbag parts of our society who give the rest of us a bad name. They feed the cultish cops attitude to us and the general Aussie narrow mindedness towards immigrants. In the little experience I have i found Melbourne and Sydney far better in this regard.
I’m definitely on an exit strategy in regards to WA.
Now not all WAians are thick nor are they all stupid, but I had a heated debate with a guy one day about the way Aussies label everyone real easy and have dated stereotype images of Irish people about drink etc. He couldn’t accept that per capita they drink more than us. He couldn’t accept our literacy rates and educational rankings were better, despite all this being fact.
Of course some of our country men don’t help us much with the idiocy, but we are still less arrested in Perth than Aussies, Kiwi’s and English. They like labeling because it’s beyond many if them to think independently or learn how to embrace new Culture or people. They are lazy in their judgement.
