@The Selfish Giant is in. The ultimate compliment to any competitive enterprise.
Just watched the Crows demolish the Kangaroos. I’m in.
Not sure had my fill of afl last weekend watching the fucking swans. Backed them to win by plus 13, of course they don’t show up until the last quarter and win by 12.
Such is the beauty of the sport, sport.
The Swans have been awful at the start of the season for the last few years. This was actually a very positive result.
OK, comp starts this weekend with Round 2, make sure you have your tips in Friday morning Eastern Standard Wexford time (you’re 9 hours behind the east coast of Aus). I would not leave it any later than 10am Friday Irish time (I will attempt to post a cut off post each evening if possible, though I may be in traffic at the time, so don’t be a dickhead about this). Please note that there is a Thursday night game on June 18th (Round 12), June 25th (Round 13), July 2nd (Round 14), July 9th (Round 15)
Rules:
A point is awarded for a correct tip
A bonus point is awarded for correctly tipping the result AND the margin
A bonus point is awarded for correctly tipping a draw
In the event of a points tie between participants, he with the lowest cumulative margin will win, that being the difference between the margin predicted and the actual game score margin.
The overall winner at the end of the regular season will receive a TFK Hoodie or some equivalent prize, though I think the accalamation of fellow posters would be more important to any of us.
I will rule on any disputes and my word is final, except in the case of any disputes involving my own tips, in which case @Gman will make a ruling.
Happy tipping.
I’m sold on the Hoodie. IN
Can we get an Irish involvement summary? I’m just sitting down to watch the MotD equivalent that I taped off Eurosport last night and I see Zach Tuohy is starting. Tis 10 years since I last attended a Carlton game. Is O’Hailpin, Setanta still making a living from the sport?
I think he’s playing with a semi pro team on the nsw/Victoria border. Open to correction on that one.
yeah him and Aisake were picked up by Albury. He kicked over 100 goals for them last year.
Will update your Irish players later on @Thrawneen

Great stuff, mate.
Irish Players in AFL
Pearce Hanley – one of Brisbanes top 5 players, and is out injured due to fuck ups within the club medical system. He is a big loss for them and puts into perspective how highly rated he is for good reason. He is a key player and doing really well
Cian Hanley – Pearce’s brother also at Brisbane. Arrived there with a cruciate injury after the Mayo minor managers disgraceful treatment of him in the AI semi final last year. A write off for the year, but at least he will get used to the system there
Zach Tuohy – Really slipped back in his performances last year for Carlton. He was being played as the lock down corner back type, and that role really doesn’t suit him, and in particular when he was off form. Still commands a starting place and is an established player in the side.
Ciaran Sheehan – Also at Carlton, is out injured at the moment. Got a few games to finish out last year and did ok. This year will tell a lot, if he can get into the team on a regular basis.
Ciaran Byrne – Louths man at Carlton, is pushing at the moment to make his debut. Hearing good stuff about him, but will need to start getting games in the first side to see where he is at.
Paddy Brophy – At West Coast Eagles, only moved this year so is playing for East Perth at the moment. He has had a good start there, has played 3 or 4 games and has shown up well for their senior side.
Sean Hurley – ex team mate of Brophys with Kildare, is now in Perth too but with Fremantle. Also only moved this year, so he is getting acquainted with the game at Peel Thunder. Played his first game last week for their reserve side, and went ok.
Tommy Walsh and Daniel Flynn both finished up this year with Sydney and Port Adelaide. Marty Clarke also finished with Collingwood, but he isn’t playing for Down now either due to his illness. I think that is them all anyway.

@The Selfish Giant - the West Coast game started a quarter and a half ago. I’ll allow it this time, but please try to keep your tips well in advance of the first game bounce, thanks mate.
