What the fuck are you watching rubgy league for when they’res sport on?
Guilty pleasure
how are my beloved Broncos doing?
Corey Parker is a bit of a big deal around these parts
Just bet the roosters in golden point. Ben Hunt try. Parker still knocking them over. They are playing a lot better this year.

The Brian Cody of the nrl, both ignorant men

Leader Board after Round 1 (TFK Round 1, as opposed to AFL Round 1, which was last week) -
- @Gman - 6 points, 355 margin
- @Loko Cove - 6 points, 388 margin
- @Sidney - 6 points, 425 margin (including bonus point for correct prediction on the Bombers, well done Sid)
- @The Selfish Giant - 5 points, 379 margin
- @ChocolateMice - 4 points, 377 margin
- @Chucks Nwoko - 4 points, 392 margin
- @Fitzy - 4 points, 424 margin (the brain explosion on Brisbane obviously not working out)
Gary Ablett out of the Geelong game for the Suns. Likely to be an extended time off. He had surgery on his serious shoulder issues last year and it’s come up again after being targeted in the first two rounds. He’s a very physically strong guy and was always able to ride tackles, but these ongoing issues with the shoulder and the fact that teams are now going after him with it means he’ll have to change how he plays. I’d say we’ve seen the best of him, a pity as he has been an astonishing player.
AFL clubs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth are resounding with Irish voices this year.
With nine players at seven different clubs, featuring both old hands and new recruits, this is the strongest Irish representation in a long time.
Carlton’s three Irish players, Zach Tuohy, Ciaran Sheehan and Ciaran Byrne, recently made history for the Blues in the pre-season – it was the most Irish-born players the side had fielded at one time.
Some of the Australian-born players also have strong Irish heritage.
The fathers of Hawthorn’s Liam Shiels and Port Adelaide’s Cameron O’Shea are both Irish, while both parents of the Sydney Swans’ Zak Jones are Irish.
Carlton
Zach Tuohy

Zach Tuohy
From Co Laois, Zach, 25, has become a mainstay across Carlton’s half-back line since his debut in 2011. He continued to show his durability and consistency last season, playing in every game for the second successive season. A crucial part of a rejuvenated defence, Zach will be looking to take his game to the next level in his fifth season. He is also a keen tweeter @zach2e
Ciarán Sheehan

Ciarán Sheehan
Rookie Ciaran, 24, was one of the surprise packets last year, playing the last four games and taking out Carlton’s Best First-Year Player award. His debut came in the Round 20 win over Gold Coast. He even had his mum fly in from Ireland for the special day. He will be looking to build on his potential in 2015.

Ciarán Byrne

Ciarán Byrne
Minor knee and ankle injuries stalled the Louth man’s progress early in his first season at Carlton, but he showed promise in 14 VFL games. The former Gaelic footballer played alongside fellow Irishmen Tuohy and Sheehan in the first week of the 2015 NAB Challenge. After impressing in pre-season, Ciaran, 20, has his sights set on challenging for a senior berth. @ciaran_byrne94
Brisbane Lions
Pearce Hanley

Pearce Hanley
From Co Mayo, Pearce, 26, made his debut for the Lions almost seven years ago and is recognised as one of Ireland’s best AFL imports. Since arriving at the club at the end of 2007, he has developed into one of the game’s best players across half-back or on a wing. @pearcehanley

Cian Hanley
A younger brother of Pearce, 19-year-old Cian earned his chance as an international rookie after establishing himself as a Gaelic football star. His
assets are elite agility and endurance. He was formally selected by the Lions with pick 56 in the AFL Rookie Draft.

Paddy Brophy
The Kildare man is
West Coast’s first ever international rookie, having joined the club in October on a two-year contract. With his size (190cm) and athleticism, the club believes he
has the potential to play several
roles and he has strong competitiveness to go with his work ethic.

Conor McKenna

Conor McKenna
The 19-year-old from Tyrone had several clubs chasing his services, but he chose the Bombers, who were the first to
approach him about an AFL career. The former Gaelic player signed as a category B rookie. He made a promising debut in the NAB Challenge.@cmckenna7

Pádraig Lucey

Pádraig Lucey
The big man (he is 203cm) finished fourth in football reality television show The Recruit. He impressed enough for Geelong to take a punt on the 22-year-old. Though he first picked up an Aussie rules ball less than two years ago, his progress will be watched with interest. @plucey15

The Kildare man was pick 48 in the 2014 rookie draft. Having left behind a promising Gaelic footballer career at home, he hopes to transfer his impressive athleticism to AFL. The 23-year-old is likely to play for Peel Thunder at first.@seanhurleyy

Surprisingly, only four of them are former Gaelic footballers.
Adam Goodes has been dropped by the Swans. Maybe Jude Bolton was right and he has gone a year too far.
He was brutal in the first game. Looked well off the pace.
Ciaran Byrne will become the first* Loudman to play AFL this weekend.
*wild guess
4 of who? the Irish players there? Am I missing some sort of joke here?
