all cockpits have “fortress doors” these days
I announced in the office this morning that this tragedy was due to the complete overeaction to 9/11 and an American colleague took massive offence but he can go and shit in his hat because it’s true. Cunts making us take our shoes off in the airport not so fucking smart now.
Maybe they should have a jacks in the cockpit?
What’s the jist of this? Pilot went for piss. Co-pilot acted the cunt/had a breakdown/is a terrorist. Locked pilot out. Then drove her into the mountain.
That it?

The door can only be opened from the inside due to all this terrorist nonsense. I believe the protocol is for one of the cabin crew to step into the cockpit if one of the pilots leave so something is amiss or protocol was breached here.
This seems very strange.
-Was there a co-pilot in the cockpit at the time?
-Was the co-pilot asleep?
-Could the co-pilot have actually deliberately crashed the plane?

That’s the crux of it. Wild speculation about the pilot’s background and political leanings to follow.
Possibly a drunk photo of him from college. With a beard. At a fancy dress. With a replica AK.
I read an article there that said the standard operating procedure in the US is to never allow only 1 person in the cockpit at any time. If one of the pilots leave, they must be replaced in the cockpit with another crew member.
It is not clear if this operating procedure has been followed by European airlines.

@Horsebox must have read the same article an hour ago.
Let’s stick to unfounded speculation rather than educated probabilities for the time being please.
Why haven’t Lufthansa released the names of the pilots and crew?
I suspect one pilot is called Mohammed or Hussan
Breaking News from my source: The pilot deliberately crashed the plane.

Thats a bit odd alright - lots of details about passengers leaking out but none about the pilot.

There are some media reports that they were “Patrick S.” and “Andreas L.”

Post reported
French prosecutor has said the Germanwings co-pilot may have crashed the plane deliberately. Pilot left the cockpit, probably to go for a piss, and couldn’t get back in.
Andreas Lubitz was the name of the co-pilot.
28 years old.
