You have to tell them you are ready first though.
It’s more like ready steady go. They are only on ready yet.

Dublin Airport has said it has learned its lesson after 118 passengers missed their flights on Sunday morning because of delays going through airport security.
Passengers were forced to queue for up to two hours to get through security and many complained that most of the desks were unmanned despite the number of people flying.
Daa spokesman Kevin Cullinane said yesterday they knew in advance the number of passengers that were going to turn up on Sunday morning, but they did not expect so many of them to arrive at once.
The number of passengers who departed the airport on Sunday was actually down 4 per cent on the previous Sunday.
“We put our hands up and apologise. We clearly didn’t have the number of security lines for the number of passengers who presented themselves in the first wave on Sunday morning,” he said.
“We, Dublin Airport/Daa, were at fault and we unreservedly apologise. It is not the way we want to run our business. Yesterday was not a good day for us at the airport. We had a perfect storm of people presenting themselves in some instances four or five hours before the flight or others who left it too late.”
“a perfect storm”
Passed through on Saturday, and Dublin airport is a joke. So long to get through security. Some of the security staff are pig ignorant as well. I went through Madrid airport recently, way way bigger, and I’d say I was 10 mins max going through security.
“Four or five hours before their flight” jesus that is taking no chances.
Is there any chance this volcano in the Canaries could have an impact on the aviation sector like the one in Iceland had?
There’s a scale, The Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) 0 to 8. Like the Richter Scale.
Here’s a graphic that explains it. So far La Palma is a 2.
There’s different types of eruptions also. Some blow their top whereas some simmer over and bubble out lava like La Palma. There’s a bit of talk alright about when the lava hits the sea, but I wouldn’t worry about that.
Not for the same reasons anyway. That Iceland volcano (not gonna even try and spell it) had two critical factors: it erupted under ice, which increased the amount of ash, secondly it spewed directly into the jet stream, which carried that ash huge distances.
The Las Palma volcano is however the one that could potentially trigger a landslide that results in a bigfuckofftsunami tipping away across the Atlantic submerging New York like in all of those cheap disaster documentaries.
My contacts in the US and the UK are all telling me the US border may not be open until the very end of November
I saw that on the telly last night.
Must be the same source
I have business in the Tri-State area
arranged for 11/4 and 11/5. They need to OIUTF.
I renewed my ESTA today in preparation for a NIE visa application.
I wonder would it ever be in the US’ interest to give a bored airport worker a green card in the national interest
I never realized the junior lads who work in Border Control at airport are here permanently on ex Pat allowances. More senior lads are moved around alright
Weren’t lads who worked security at the Embassy entitled to a green card after a year or two working there? IIRC
