I’m like an auld house wife
Sorry about the mess, this is the recipe, it is unbelievable
@Horsebox, the suggestions above are perfect but natural yogurt is the best substitute IMO
I’m a dab hand at the oul porridge bread but want to try a few more bits given the times.
Correct. In more than one sense.
I would always make a brown health loaf with normal milk
I’m no paul Hollywood but the consistency of golden brown colours would make one assume the recipe was on point
More luck than judgement. I’ve no scales so I was guesstimating every ingredient except the butter
Scales are for losers real bakers guestimate. Sure Donald Sheehan has been doing it for years
Very simple …tho rose a bit more than I expected.
Had a few cuts there with some home made carrot and sweet potato soup the mrs made.
I made a griddle cake last night. I had to make homemade buttermilk first, that trick with the lemon is brilliant. It came out savage. I picked up 7kg of flour today, that will keep me in bread for a good few days
There’s lads here still living off take away food… I dont know what they’ll do when everything is closed down.
That looks great. I’ve made it before and I’d agree it’s very very tasty and easier than people would think.
Did you use strong flour?
It’s impossible to pick up strong flour at the moment, one of the things that’s sold out, I picked up 4 bags of this last week in Lidl, even better
